How many 1000 plus posters in Edmonton? Every so often I like to review posts by the veterans with more than 1000 posts. It is interesting to see whether their preferences have changed and even more who is still around from early posts they made.

Of course Wolvie & Trawler certainly lead the pack, but I am sure there are many more interesting gents from the past who have contributed to us rookies, lol.

I don't know if number of posts really tell you how much of a veteran someone is.

Some hardly post any reviews and just talk in the lounge etc.

There was a time I only posted reviews. More then anyone else I know of.

Now I am posting in the lounge etc. and my post count has gone up and at least 150 current posts are not reviews now.

Not to mention I have been doing this for twelve years off and on.

I joined perb when in 06?

I have what 250+ reviews?

You bring up a good point, but on average the larger posters, tend to date back some. I for one joined in Feb 2006 and have 700 plus quotes. I don't do a lot of reviews because lately I don't see a lot of ladies and any I do already have plenty of reviews.

It is not just the reviews that are interesting, many other comments are just as interesting.
And If there are more than 500 posts I think perb cuts them off at that, so sometimes how far back members have posted is cut off anyway.

Actual posts started tends to be less so they usually go back farther by date.

I prefer

I like when I see posters that have been here for some time and dont have a whole whack of posts.
That usually tells me that when they do post, it is worth taking the time to read.
Many members seem to think it is some kind of sign of vurtility to post as much and as often as possible and never really saying anything at all!

Nice to see members active, but informative is nice too.

Alright guys, let me have it:p

Post count has little to do with veteran status on the boards (in reality). I've seen people go on post whoring extravaganzas and accumulate more posts in 6 months than some people gain in years. (well, will you look at that... I've just reached my 1000th post just now...I'm the 833rd member to join these boards, and I started in 2003 on here... so I guess that's a pretty darned good support for my arguement).

By the by, if you want to find out what your member number is (ie, how many people joined previous to you), just mouse over your screen name and the information will appear in the lower left part of your window. u-XXX will be on the end of a url address for perb... XXX is your number.)

AFAIK, Mick Shagher is another Edmontonian that is reaching 1500 post count. Praxis and Jim are closing in on 1000, I believe.

I don't have much posts myself, nor do I have what some considered a real review. But I enjoy reading this board. I like to contribute to certain threads and tries not to write senseless crap. I strongly believe that members should be encouraged to post, rather than lurk.

Real reviews should always be encouraged as this is after all a review board. However, some people here just won't be able to enjoy the hobby very often, and may not have much new intel to share. Others may see a few SPs that have been reviewed to the death.

Regardless, post count should not be a measure of experience.

In my own imagination!!
See for myself I joined a while back by some

........standards but I went away for a while and did not post for a long time only to come back and post a great deal. It goes in spurts or cycles. IMO many veteran pooners might only post once and a while but still poon way more than guy;s with 1000 or 1500 post counts?

Post counts don't really mean much to me personally, only what you say and how you conduct yourself here. If it wasn't for a Lounge that used to be addictive, interesting and fun to post in (that is, until last year or so), my post count would be much lower.

After lurking for a while I first posted a review in March 2006 and have 150+ posts, and that's with a number of lounge / non-review posts.

I guess quality over quantity? When I have something to say I say it, but not just to hear myself speak :) lol

You all make good points

I'll change my post to say who are some of the longer registered members.

For example DinoMartini has been around since mid 2003, but only has 80 plus posts to his credit. But his old posts are interesting to see who was around then and who he interacted with on perb

Wolverine for one has been around that long too, but has 4500 plus posts. In fact, I think he and DinoMartini posted on some of the same threads back in 2003. That is kinda neat seeing the trends of which MP's were hot then, and some comments on the ladies then who have retired and who have moved around over the years.

With the exception of me and Jim I don't think theres anyone who has been here from the start and still posts.
Post count is meaningless, most people just spam the forums and rack up a high post count but have done hardly any reviews.

Sexyboy how do you have 250 reviews? From what I can see you have less then 20...
Maybe your reviews are so awesome that their invisible.

Okay lets stay on track

If you guys want to carry this on, please start your own thread.

Yes Bobo, I see you and Jim (number 20!) have been around. There are only a few members that have been on here since 2002. Being fairly new myself, I am not aware of when this board started, that is why I started this thread in the first place. Are there others?

I enjoy looking back at your posts and in terms of contribution to this board you guys definitely are pioneers.

Their are many still on the board from early 2003 and their contributions are also noted.

Freaky, Wolvie, Trawler (Edmonton perb members) to mention a few, all seem to have joined in 2003. They are still here. I am looking to see how many others are and as I said in an earlier post, forget how many posts, just how long have other perb members been around, including other cities.

Thanks
G.A.

I did just notice that you cannot search back past 500 posts on a user.

Is that right?

That is what I found. Which makes the request on large post amounts a bit redundant, better getting low posts for older members, at least less than 500 if you want to go back to see things in 2002 or 03 for example.

I did find it interesting to see posts from high volume posters that are not in their profile, but if you pull up a member from 2002 that has less than 500 posts, you may see posts from the high volume guys who added to the threads.

Kinda fun if you are bored like me, haha.

Experience really does matter lol.

I made reviews on existing threads.

I lost posts that I made when I first started that were mostly reviews.

I would like to know what I thought about say Willow from Winnipeg who now moved to Halifax.

Too bad you can't have two user names one for reviews and one to chat. Maybe another way to organize it.
