I am curious if anybody knows of any mass email programs out there that are pretty easy to operate as the more time I spend on the computer the more frustrated I get....perhaps some trainingg may be in order...actually that might be kinda fun ;) ..all kidding aside I could use some suggestions....
Thanks so much

Avoid doing it yourself if at all possible.

Companies where users have voluntarily subscribed to email newsletters just about all use third parties to send them out. That's to avoid being falsely identified by the ISPs automated spam systems as a "spammer" and having their domain names and/or email addresses blacklisted. Plus most major ISPs (Telus, Shaw, etc) have clauses that they will automatically cancel your service if the automated systems decide that you're spamming.

That's why all the real spammers that drive us crazy all go to great lengths to hide who they really are. I.E. The real newsletters that people want don't get through but all the real spam does!

If you have a small number to send, then send them yourself manually and in small groups and on different days. Also make sure that you continually change the content a little bit (or personalize them) so that the automated spam detection systems don't see you sending out the same email message over and over again.

Hope that helps!

Have you considered alternatives to mass emailing?

Something like a very simple web site (with or without password) where people can sign on to get the latest news, or maybe one of the existing blog type services?

That would work, assuming that you set up a separate email account for that purpose on his server. While I don't know him, I assume that he's not likely to blacklist you.

Plus if that special email address or domain name does get blacklisted by the other Internet Service Providers (ISPs), then it wouldn't affect your regular email (unless you're sharing the same domain name).

Constant Contact is really cool. Gives you all of the stats of who opened the email, how long they spent reading it, what sections they read, etc.
