I'm just wondering if you could catch any STD's if a girl went down to ball lick me. I did use soap within 30 minutes of the act.

Thanks

Hi mikeallstar1

I have not heard of any sexually transmitted infection being transmitted to a man by ball licking.

Why then do they say that a condom doesn't offer 100% protection against herpes, since the base of the penis and pubic region is exposed?

Hi mikeallstar1

You’re correct in that condoms do not offer 100% protection because it does not cover all the skin. It would not prevent transmission in someone who was shedding if the condom did not cover this area. So I guess in reference to your initial question it may be possible to spread herpes to your scrotum (balls) by having someone lick them. Let’s have a look at a few factors in regard to herpes transmission.

The most common type of herpes simplex virus (HSV) that infects the mouth is HSV type 1. We know that the majority of Canadians have this type of herpes, even if they can never remember having an outbreak (cold sore). We also know that people who have HSV type 1 can have the virus in their saliva even when they are not having an outbreak. We also know that if you already have HSV type 1 it is unlikely that you will get it in a second place e.g. if you already have it around the mouth unlikely you will get it around the genitals.

The other thing with HSV is that it does not penetrate intact skin. The virus can enter through broken skin or mucous membranes such as the lining of the vagina, male urethra (pee tube), eyes, nose, anus, throat and the mouth. They also believe that the action of sex e.g. grinding your skin with someone else’s helps herpes transmission as this action can cause microscopic tears in the skin and the virus is basically rubbed into your skin.

So in answer to your question I think the risk of HSV transmission from having someone lick your balls is highly unlikely, but possible.

Health nurse, are there any additional risks to having intercourse with a heavily pregnant sex-worker?

Hi soopergrizz

I have not heard of any additional risks to having intercourse with a heavily pregnant sex-worker.

There are many infections that can be really harmful to the baby so it is a good idea to make sure you have had a recent STI/HIV check, especially syphilis.

They usually test pregnant woman for STI/HIV infections at the beginning of the pregnancy and if the woman catches something after this test an infection could be missed.

Does this answer your question?

hey hn.

I guess if you shaved your balls right before you went and got someone to lick them, then you probably up the chance of transmission by irritating the skin, and probably causing much of this microscopic tearing you referred to, I think that should be kept in mind as well, as most guys would probably at least think of doing this first
