Like the December raids and the "Pinky's" charges in February, this is another example of most of the lazy media being very dishonestly misled into reporting that the brave and diligent police have heroically freed supposed "sex slaves". Look at the CKNW.com headline for this story. Luckily a few people in the media, like Ian Mulgrew and Jody Paterson, are capable of smelling bullshit from a mile away....Instead of a serious prosecution of a snakehead or people smuggler, however, we got a run-of-the-mill whorehouse case...
The "sex slaves" had access to money and bank accounts. They had regular contact with relatives and moved freely in the community...
Ng was operating a bawdy house -- no different than many, many other licensed so-called "massage parlour" proprietors across the Lower Mainland.
He and a couple of his "employees" -- "contractors," whatever you want to call them -- got into a spat and the cops were called.
...this case never withstood scrutiny...
Vancouver judge Malcolm MacLean decided all of it was a crock...
The judge found the women's evidence mostly a pack of lies...
This "human trafficking" case was an embarrassment.
