Most people get 3-4 days jail time from this situation. So good for paris for getting out early from this. I think it's unfair to treat celebrities with a higher standard just because they are famous and rich.

Um, her sentence was 45 days in jail. The only reason she got out early is because she had a "break down" (which basically means that she cried and was sad), and so a psychiatrist recommended that she serve the time under house arrest in order to avoid a nervous break down.

She will now be serving 40 days house arrest.

Gee, must be nice to have doctors and lawyers get you out of jail when it's not fun. Now she'll serve 40 days in her mansion.

hold em to higher standard?? How about holding them to the same standard. She broke the law and got caught. Don't know of too many sane people who wouldn't have a bit of a nervous breakdown faced withe the fact of having to spend time in jail. Sadly though, I (and those same sane people) do not have the monatary clout to hire people to get a sentence reduced to a weekend retreat.

Most people would get less than a week for this crime. I've read about her case and the 40 some odd day sentence was way to harsh. We should treat celebrities like normal people. So, in my opinion she served her time cause most people would only get 3-4 days for this shit

I would agree with you in the sentence if what she was caught for was multiple driving violations (which in the past has included a DUI and driving with a suspended licence); but the that she got jail time was that she was caught while driving with a suspended licence AND on a 3 year probation FOR driving with a suspended licence. That too me smells of someone with no regard to social law unless it can serve her purpose...which in this case it has because she was able to get her sentence reduced from 45 days in jail to 23 days in to house arrest....guessing at the size of her house and all its amenities I'll say it again...preferential treatment BECAUSE she is a star.

Agreed.... once again, the preferential treatment of the rich and faboo allows us shocking insite into how broken the system really is...

Damn... if any one of us tried that, it'd be months in jail for sure. That woman has no respect for the law, nor the lives of anyone else around her. She should be put down like the mangy dog she is.

Being on the verge of a breakdown because you've been incarcerated is kind of normal under the circumstances, isn't it?

In BC, driving while prohibited carries a mandatory 7 day sentence for a first offence with a one year mandatory driving prohibition. For a second offence the penalty is doubled and again it is mandatory ie there is no judicial discretion.

I love how it said she kept looking over at her mother and telling her "I love you", etc...

Was that a "I love you even though you couldn't get me out of jail you b*tch" or a "I love you for giving me everything in life and not letting me learn how to be responsible for myself"?. I vote for the former.

Next time, don't drive drunk...don't drive while prohibited..don't drive after being warned not to drive anymore.
