If he were Tkachuk, he would be making 3.0+ a year and fans would really be crying for blood. He is 22 years old, more than likely going to play on the second line (at the very least he will be a good third line centre). he is a hell of a penalty killer, is fast (something the Canucks are in short supply), and a bit gritty (again something in short supply). People tend to jump the gun on moves before seeing the final result of the team. Same song different year for Canuck fan.
i do give him credit for having the balls to say 'he can do better'
but more effort and no goals is still no goals.
and I don't think he is the problem (see my posts on naslund)
but I don't believe that Kesler is the solution either ...
I don't think this team can really 'contend' until naslund is gone.
Its not for a lack of skill or effort on his part, but rather that his
attitude just doesn't inspire ...
This team, while WAY improved, still doesn't come out with the
killer attitude to put other teams way ... they play hard, they work
and throw some hits, but they get up a goal and its cycle, cycle, cycle
and cycle some more ...
I'm at the point where they should consider putting Sabourin in net
and give Luonga a stick and the C and let the guy skate!!!!
That's what I love about Luonga, the guy plays to WIN and does
it EVERY night!!!!
