Nonis is a moron!

Holy fuck Nonis is stupid as hell!!!!! If it wasnt for Mike Keenan and his retarded ego trading Luongo, Nonis would be considered the worst GM in the league!!

Yah, I think Kessler is overpaid. Though, he may not have hit his potential yet? That price for the type of year he had though, is unacceptable in my books.

You guys do realize that he is taking a pay cut from his $1.9M contract gifted by Bobby Clarke last season, right?;)

Sarcasm?

5.2 / 3 = 1.73 million. Phew, that's a saving of $167,000 a year. Bet he will not be able to get that Merc he was eyeing. Maybe if he scores only 3 goals a year for the next 3 years he'll take another major pay cut ;)

I will grant you that he is a great penalty killer.

A little bit but also in agreement with what bubbles 112 said. Unfortunately, this is how the my new NHL works.

If he were Tkachuk, he would be making 3.0+ a year and fans would really be crying for blood. He is 22 years old, more than likely going to play on the second line (at the very least he will be a good third line centre). he is a hell of a penalty killer, is fast (something the Canucks are in short supply), and a bit gritty (again something in short supply). People tend to jump the gun on moves before seeing the final result of the team. Same song different year for Canuck fan.

i do give him credit for having the balls to say 'he can do better'
but more effort and no goals is still no goals.

and I don't think he is the problem (see my posts on naslund)
but I don't believe that Kesler is the solution either ...

I don't think this team can really 'contend' until naslund is gone.

Its not for a lack of skill or effort on his part, but rather that his
attitude just doesn't inspire ...

This team, while WAY improved, still doesn't come out with the
killer attitude to put other teams way ... they play hard, they work
and throw some hits, but they get up a goal and its cycle, cycle, cycle
and cycle some more ...

I'm at the point where they should consider putting Sabourin in net
and give Luonga a stick and the C and let the guy skate!!!!

That's what I love about Luonga, the guy plays to WIN and does
it EVERY night!!!!

Man you said it LG, I couldn't agree more, just look at the two teams
who are playing for the cup.

Do the Nucks even remotely compare in work ethic to these two teams??

NOT !!!!! except for the above mentioned Luongo of course.

That's the problem people or should I say NO NUTS NONIS !!! :D

i think no-nuts is doing what he can with what he has to work with ...

being stuck with a huge salary for a player that doesn't even bother
to show up isn't his fault ...

and having Luongo there just shows how much Naslund doesn't
bother to show up each night!

But Nonuts did dump Chouinard ... will let Smolinski fade into
obscurity ... will evaluate Bulis (nice play in the playoffs but
wtf during the regular season!) and so on ...

The nucks have done okay to dump a lot of garbage and got a
jewel in Luongo ...

got FA for Special Ed but he's gone and good riddance ...

nada for Clouts but good riddance ...

the last big turd stinking up the place is Naslund ... time
to flush and light a match under the rest of the team.

;)

overpaid?? wtf!

i'm sorry, but if anyone thinks he is overpaid is crazy.

under the CBA the smallest contract he could sign is 1.6M. In this final year of his contract when he's making 1.73M that will be a complete steal!
Sure, for 07-08 season it might be a little high, but over the 3 yrs its a great deal for the canucks. another good signing from Nonis.
