getting ready to go for my early morning walk.. I opened my closet to grab a pair of shoes.. and in the corner noticed one of my favourite ballerina shoes (the ultimate comfort !!) and remembered how comfy they were, so I grabbed them for my walk.. as soon as I picked them up I remembered why I had not been wearing them.. they had come apart a bit in the front from the plastic base part.. I thought to myself.. and decided that a little crazy glue would do the trick !!! See this pair shoes and I have a great history.. the kind of shoe that kills bloody murder when you buy them.. giving you huge blisters.. but after you break them in they are the most comfortable things ever.. and you wear them all the time.. everywhere... they become an extension to your own foot !!! So I found the crazy glue.. and began the operation!!! Because I had not used the glue in a while the spout was plugged and I had to cut the bottle open.. as I sliced into the bottle it jumped out of my grip.. and slid across the counter.. I caught it quickly ( glue flying everywhere) dumped a bunch on my shoes.. put them on and stood on my tip toes to glue them.. Feeling satisfied that I did it I began to clean up, and noticed how much glue had poured out everywhere.. I grabbed a scrubbie..that soon glues to my fingers that quickly glued together.. pulling them apart and the scrubbie off me I noticed a tissue that was on the counter.. and tried to pick it up.. Too late it was glued. and now glued to my fingers as well.. scrambling on my tip toes.. almost losing my balance.. I grabbed a knife and began to scrape the tissue off the counter.. scratched it.. switched to a butter knife.. all the while picking tissue off my fingers and constantly pulling them apart !!! In the end of my frantic shuffle.... and with a pile of sore toes, and yucked up fingers I came to realize that it didn't even work.. My shoes were the same as they were when I began !Needless to say I decided that their life was over, and with great passion I threw them away.... all before 8 in the morning ;)

when was it that you realized that the life line in one of your favourite things had finally come to an end ??? :)

1) Use nail polish remover to clean up crazy glue messes, doesn't scratch the counter that way.

2) I bet you could have auctioned them off. There's a fetish for EVERYTHING these days.

Hey Tianna - sounds like those shoes just keep on making history with you! hehe :)

My saddest discard is always pairs of jeans - you know, the ones that accentuate all the right places and actually stay long enough for a 36" inseam regardless of which male roomate decides to help with the wash
I always keep them until the back hems are completely worn away and my mom has to tell me she can see my thighs through the holes in the groin area - then I STILL keep them in my drawer for another month or two before actually tossing them. "*sigh* and they made my @$$ look SO damn good!!!!"
lol - I've actually started buying double sets of jeans at a time to keep the dream alive, but alas, then I just have to leave both behind :(

Jeans for me too!

I always really like Mavi's. I had to pair, they just made my bum look so good, and they were nice and long and so comfy. I wore a pair out until you actually see my ass cheeks, and I still kept them. Then I bought the same pair again and wore them out. I loved them cause you could wear them with kicks or pumps they were so perfect. Alas they don't make that style anymore.;)
