For the last 6 or 7 months maybe longer I have been having trouble holding an erection. What I mean is that when a condom is put on my errection I seem to lose my ability to keep it up.
I am beginning to believe that it has to do with putting a condom on.
When I am doing it myself (masterbating) I never have a problem going all the way,so to speak.
When I am with a girl I have no problem getting an erection and it lasting until we puit the condom on. When we start to have intercourse I begin to lose my erection.

I am 45 yrs. old This is a fairly recent thing. In the past I have not had this problem. I am also in good shape. I don't smoke or drink much.

If you have any suggestions they would be helpful.

Thank you

Speaking from experience... Pop a Viagra or Cialis before hand, and your partner should learn how to put the condom (perhaps thinner condom) on with her mouth continuing to suck you off while stimulating your balls and shaft in between talking very dirty and having a mini bullet vibrator ready to tease your tip. If that doesn't work, it's just in your head, get a monog partner and get tested.

Good luck!;)

I'm younger than you by about 15 years, but I get the same problem when a condom first goes on. What I find helps is to put a finger under the ring of rubber near the base of your unit. For me, it seems to be a "blood constriction" issue. Once I manage to get it to full erection, I stop hooking my finger under the rubber ring and then it acts like a c*ck-ring, holding all the blood in there.

Probably doesn't make much sense, but it's just a thought.

Hi Ironhead

There are a number of things that can cause this common problem. When it happens it can make men anxious. The next time you put on a condom that anxiety can return and it may be more likely that you will loose your erection.

The first thing I would recommend is that you see your family doctor for a check up. It is a common issue and there are many solutions available, but your doctor needs to know the details in order to address the problem. General health, medications, age, and anxiety are some of the factors than can influence erections.

Some men have tried female condoms with success. They offer good protection, men do not have to worry about putting them on and women can put them in before you get there.

Another suggestion is to use a condom when you are masturbating. You are trying to connect condoms with pleasure and reduce the experience of condoms with anxiety. Also once you get an erection you can use a cock ring to help keep the erection.

If you have a supportive sexual partner and are able to discuss the situation beforehand there are a few things you can do that might help. Sometimes partners can stimulate you, verbally and physically, when the condom is being put on. Also if your partner knows ahead of time that you are worried about losing an erection you may be less anxious if it starts to happen.

There are some good sex therapist in the Vancouver area, if you PM me I can send you contact information.

Does this answer your question?

I've had this same problem. The problem for me is that regular condoms are usually too tight. Sometimes I am sensitive to this and I lose it. So what I do is I bring my own larger ones and I use them when her condom makes me go soft.

It happens

I recently had a fantastic session with my favorite lady. I had an erection pretty much the whole time I was with her. Towards the end of the visit while I was doing stand up at the end of the table, I started to go soft. We had been going at it for some time, but I was having a hard time finishing. That can be a good thing I suppose, but for the lady, at some point she needs a break too.

I got soft, went back to Daty, which seemed to get me harder again, but shortly after I was in things just came to a halt.

Fortunately, seeing my dilemma, we got back up on the table in the 69 position and I came with a great HJ while I was back eating her out.

The entire session was close to 1 1/2 hrs and I was hard with the exception of the last five minutes or so.

Is it possible the blood flow needs to take a break after that long, affecting the firmness? NO "V" was involved, could that help?

I really don't see having an erection for most of an hour & a half a problem, but I still like to feel the pulsating orgasm while thrust deep into a tight pussy. It just completes the whole experience with a great finale for both of us I think.
