OK so I don't want to gross out all the guys but...

Last month I had my period and I had already booked an appointment that I didn't have his number to call in case I needed to cancell so I told my exgirlfriend...

She bought me a sea sponge and said don't worry put this up your vagina and then you won't leak...

EWE. Nothing leaked on the client but trying to get that thing out of me after....holly disgusting shit!

I couldn't reach. Unfortunately I told my girlfriend its her fault and she has to get it out because I don't want to go to the doctor and have to tell him Im a retard who likes to stick sponges where they don't belong!

Thank goodness she was so openminded...LOL I kind of miss how she used to help me in any messy situation but anyways...

Just wondering does anyone know a better way that allows me to have clean sex while on my period?

a little lower on same page...

Some women who do sex work like the idea of taking pill continuously because having a period could interfere with their work. Some women use menstrual cups or diaphragms to catch menstrual blood and make a period less messy during sex. You can google these products to take a look. The Keeper and Instead Softcup are two variations.

I have used instead, which is very easy to put in and remove, the downside is that most guys can definately feel them and that (for me, anyway) they are prone to leakage.

I never bought the sea spunge

I dont use them.... she bought them.. yes I did take it out to help her through her frusteration, Im lucky to be quite light.. and dont really use anything.. Im kinda against tampons as I think they dry you out.. cause bladder infections.. and are not that great for you.. plus it stops the natural flow of your body.... your body is cleansing its supposed to leave your body as it comes out not sit around and wait for you to take it out.... I also believe tampons and such things as sea spundges cause cramps.. and ruin the natual flow of what your body is doing..... I have never used a sea spunge and never will... health nurse is there any truth to the things that I have stated above.. or is it just my peronsal belief... and danika, please do not say that I did stuff I did not.. it would be great if you could leave me out of your posts all together.... and productively move on.. thanks sicerely tianna

Yes a few days off..not so bad really.

Wish I did have a man that didn't mind getting it on in the shower at my time of the month..you are right, orgasms do help with the cramps for sure!

Guess masturbating works ;)

I do like certain girls fingers to be put inside of me....but....nah this fishing fettish isn't too appealing to me! lol

Some girls work during their time of the month and all the power to them...

Im just gonna ty to keep my mess to myself....

Tianna, tampons can dry you out and cause TSS-toxic shock syndrome if they are too abosrbant (being a reg or super tampon) meant for heavy flows. If you are a female that doesn't bleed much than you need to go with a reg, light flow or "teen" tampon on the 1st or second day at the peak of your flow that's if you want to keep things clean down there rather than sit on a smelly messy pad. TSS happens when a tampon drys you out or is left in too long. Tampons should be changed every 2hrs and not used at night. If you're lazing around home wear a pad but if you want to keep clean, use a tampon. Bladder infections are caused by dehyration and a bacterial infection. Drink more WATER not sugary juices, and 100% pure cranberry juice (not watered down sugary ocean spray -read the label) which directly fights the bacteria. Also it's important to ass-wipe from the back rather than back to front which spreads fecal matter into your urinary tract and vagina which causes bladder infections. Limiting refined white starchy carbs and refined sugars will also help avert from bladder infections, whats happening in your vagina does not cause a bladder infection.

Tampons and sponges DO NOT cause cramps. Cramps are a result of the uterine muscle working to expel the collected blood and unfertilized egg. Reducing alcohol, not drinking coffee and eating read meat a week and a half prior to your period should ease cramp symptoms as well as using chinese herbs. Tampons do not disrupt the natural cleansing/shedding process because it is absorbing the blood waste but you also don't want to dry things up and absorb the natural vaginal PH moisture so you just need to use the right tampon. Also when inserting it, if you are not using an applicator WASH your hands well and do not set it down unwrapped on a surface as you will be putting nasty bugs up there as I read in an article of a girl who put her bare tampon on a public train washoom counter while she held on to a bar for stability due to the train moving. Within 24hrs she came down with a high fever from a type of e-coli from fecal matter strain traced back to that situation.

Diaphrams, sea sponges, and instead are all messy and unreliable during the height of your period -usually the second day but are fine during a lighter flow. Just try to book dates the day or two after and be prepped with a hot towel for wipes after, keep your index and middle finger around the rim of the condom when doing it to protect him, be aware of leakage everytime you change positions and grab the condom off with the towel over it. I personally find it way more convienient to request flexibility of my date to book in a few days after or count my calender to let him know the best time to meet me.

There shouldn't be mis-info out there in basic gyno.
Good luck, good health.

Our Bodies, Our Selves...

What I find strange is that we're all talking about "the curse" so much. Maybe this is a good thing, but sticking your own fingers into your own "yahoo" seems totally normal to me. We allow strange men to put their cocks in there so... and hooray for the good soldiers, you are true men. Thanks for your "courage".

Hi Tianna

Like so many things in life everyone is different and sometimes it is best to do what you are comfortable with. As this is subjective, different people will chose different things.

The biggest concern regarding tampon use is toxic shock syndrome (TSS). It is a rare condition that is caused when toxins are released by normal bacteria that we have on/in our body. The risk of tampon related TSS has been associated with the absorbency of the tampon. Currently that is why they recommend that you use the lowest absorbency for your flow and do not leave it in for more than 8 hours. If you use higher absorbency tampons or leave them in for too long this will increase the likelihood of bacteria multiplying.

I have not been able to find much research on tampon use and urinary tract infections (UTI). I did find one bit of information that suggested tampons use may slightly increase your risk by putting pressure on the urethra and bladder which could partially block your urine flow. UTI’s are most commonly caused by bacteria from your intestines or vagina that gets into your urethra (pee tube). Antibiotic usage, pregnancy and sexual activity can also be common risk factors.

Depo-Provera

Have you considered using Depo-Provera.... It's a Birth Control solution... 1 injection every 3 months, and it eliminates menstration... no aunt flow...:)

Just my 2 cents worth....

Depoprovera...?

I like having the time out every month...
I can still dance with for Tayor and then I have an excuse to make you all miss me;)

But then again to not have to deal with it at all might be kind of nice...I will check into it next week...my doctor will tell me the side effects and I will decide from there!

Thanks for the suggestion

Not a Sea Sponge....but....

I personally tried out a couple of options myself when I first encountered this problem: Instead broke with rough sex (boooooo) and were unreliable in the leakage dept. I then attempted using contraceptive sponges, which absorb like a tampon (from what I've found), but don't get in the way at all. Nice thing about this option is the string attached to the sponge - WAY easier to get out than that sea sponge :)

One thing to remember if using this method is that they should probably be changed as often as a tampon, instead of following the non-menstrual instructions on the box, which state that it can stay in place for 24 hours!!

Happy humping! ;)

Are you out of your mind? Seriously, there is a reason we have the " RED ARMY" every month.
Don't play with nature.

I have heard about that solution but you just have no idea how bad it is for you.
I rather have those few days off then looking for these unhealty solutions.
Ladies, you can't be that desperate for $$$$ to not to take those few days off, please don't jepordize your health for a few extra $$$.
It could hurt you later in life and you won't know why you have the problems.
I am just thinking with common sense, not a doctor. :)
i very agree with you think healty!
those days off are my shopping moment and i love it!

I tried that shot once...I bled for 2 months straight, and went insanely depressed. All I could do was ride the bus, and cry. My record in one day was 15 bus trips. It was the worst 3 months of my life!
