Dear HN,

Recently I had a BBBJ from a well known provider. Normally I use a condom, but that day I was not thinking. I am very nervous, can I get HIV testing done in the lower mainland w/o giving my identity (ie. anonymous). Also, is it possible to go to the US clinics (ie. Planned Parethood)? please advise.

At this point I am not experiencing any STD symptoms (burning, itching, etc..)

Thanks in advance for the info.

really there may be some what discreet hiv testing but regardless if your worried to that extent you letting the doctors know who you are isnt a bad thing whats to say its nothing at all or what if you did find out that you had something You would then need to go on medication. The doctors will definitly have to know you personally to keep you alive lol so discretion isnt always the case

try downtown 3 bruidges someone messaged me and told me there is a free clinic there but havent gone there myself

There is a clinic, near Davie and Bute. Totally anonymous and free, from 1100 AM-630PM M-F. Good luck.

I am not an expert or anything but HIV from getting a blowjob is not really high on the list of things to be worried about, there have been a few threads on this stuff.

In this one the health nurse says this about HIV from getting a bj

There have been no documented cases of transmission through getting fellatio.
Not that getting tested is a bad idea or anything, you could get alot of other stuff from bbbj and should probably read up on the other threads on bbbj in this section.

Hi Clone

In the lower mainland you can get an anonymous STI/HIV test if you come to one of our clinics or go to a public health unit in your area (if they offer STI/HIV testing). You do not need to show ID at these clinics.

Here is a link to the STI clinic near Cambie and 12th Ave in Vancouver. It is best to make an appointment when you go to this clinic.

Our other clinic is drop in only and is near the corner of Bute and Davie.

Bute Street Clinic
1170 Bute Street
Vancouver, BC
Phone: 604-660-7949
Hours: Monday-Friday 11:00am - 6:30pm

You can get an anonymous (non-nominal) HIV test at any doctor’s office in BC. When you get your test done just tell the doctor you don’t want to use your real name.

It is also possible to go to a US clinic, but I’m not sure if they offer anonymous testing and how much this would cost.

It is important to know that the USA laws allow them to refuse admittance to the country if you are HIV positive. With this in mind I don’t know what reporting policy their public health may have for non US citizens if they test positive for HIV.

Even if you experience no symptoms it is a good idea to go for a checkup. You stated that you are nervous about HIV from a BBBJ. We would be more concerned about infections like syphilis or gonorrhea. When you go for your HIV test make sure you get those ones completed as well.

Does this answer your question?

Please feel free to comment or ask us to expand on a topic. Remember if you would like to ask me a personal question just send me a PM.

While HIV/AIDS is top of the news it is not usually transmitted with a BBBJ but other STDs are, some without symptoms. If you go in for the HIV test (and you have to wait a time to produce the antibodies that they test for) you should run the whole gambit. Its no big deal and its nice to know you are clean.
