Either an STD or somekind of kidney trouble.
Not a good sign for someone in your postion. That guy should head straight to a doctor asap.
It would freak me out to see that.

It sure is not from drinking too much red wine.

it concerned me.. well for his sake..I just hope he is alright..

Hi Tianna

In answering this question we are assuming that you are talking about seeing blood when he ejaculated. If this is not what happened then let us know.

Blood in the ejaculate (cum) is known as Hematospermia. It is a common reason why people come to our clinic for a checkup. It is often the result of a broken blood vessel when the man ejaculates. Occasionally blood in semen may also be present when there is infection or more rarely cancer.

Generally blood in the semen is not a symptom of an STI. At the same time blood can carry infections such as Hepatitis B/C, HIV, but with condom use any risk would be much lower.

For men:

Finding blood in their semen can scare men, but usually it is not related to serious problems. We find that the majority of cases end up being a short-lived episode having no medical significance. It has been described as a “nosebleed” from the penis.

Even though it usually is not serious, we highly recommend that anyone who has this experience goes for a check up. One of the biggest issues we find is that, due to embarrassment, people will not go to the doctor and if something happens infrequently they will put it out of their mind e.g. “if I just wait long enough it will go away”. But you should see your Dr so they can rule out any more serious issues (eg prostate cancer)

Just keep in mind that it is not related to “pooning” and the physician will not assume that when you go to see him/her. If that is stopping you from going to the Dr they don’t need to know that information at this time.

If you do not want to see your family doctor you could always go to an STD (sexually transmitted disease) clinic or see a different doctor.

I know that I barely touched him.. I think it was comming out of the tip.. mind u I did not get right up close and investigate it.. I jumped up to get him a cloth..

Hi Tianna

Thanks for clarifying what happened. The answer we gave above is just if you see blood when the man ejaculates (cums).

From the description you have given this does not appear to be a sexually transmitted infection. The only risk to you would be coming in contact with the other person’s blood, but from what you describe this does not sound like it happened as there was no contact.

There are a few conditions that can cause bleeding when the foreskin is pulled back, most of these can be treated.

One common condition is frenulum breve. Basically the frenulum is very short and tight, which prevents the normal retraction of the foreskin. A short frenulum can rip during sexual activity and cause it to bleed. Although common, many men may not realize they have it. If the man has experienced pain with sex he may have modified his activity to decrease discomfort. For example when he masturbates he is more careful about pulling the foreskin back.

Often men do not like to speak about penis problems with their doctor, which is unfortunate as many conditions can be easily dealt with. Occasionally conditions become worse because people are reluctant to seek early medical attention.
