I have read and re-read all the statistics on herpes. This is the thing that scares me the most as I always wear a party hat but how do you protect against skin / skin contact?
Anyway, I just want to know how many (if anyone would admit to it) of my fellow hobbyists ever got cold sores (herpes) from a date? Or genital herpes?

Hi artic-storm

It appears that you are concerned about the risk of herpes from genital sex.

It is great that you are using a party hat (condom). This will reduce the chance of getting herpes, but will not take it to 0% as some areas of skin will not be covered by the condom.

You can be as safe as possible but it is hard to be sexually active and have no risk.

It is difficult to enjoy sex if, after you have it, you feel anxious. Everyone has a different risk tolerance and what makes them anxious will also be different.

If you are concerned, you can reduce your risk by engaging in lower risk sex activities such as having a HJ.

Have a look at the thread we did on herpes.
