Bell Canada has no clue about online service

Muther fucking phone company!

I have a bell cellular account which is only being kept in service since that's the number that 99% of people use to reach me and I'm not about to reprint business cards or fill out endless change forms. This means that I spend zero time looking at my monthly bill and the still sealed envelope gets filed every month. The account is paid automatically against a credit card so in effect takes no effort on my behalf to insure its kept in good standing.

Feeling a little guilty about the 4 pages + envelope needed to send me no information (if I had the time I'd like to ask those fuckers why it takes them 5 sheets of paper to send about 20 lines of text) I thought I'd sign up for online access to the account and have them email me the monthly statement.

I go online and follow the instructions like a good little customer and foolishly expect to be able to view my account. Wrong! Here's the message from Bell:
Have you recently consolidated your services on One Bill?
Allow 4 to 8 weeks before you can see your bill. We'll send you an e-mail when your first One Bill is ready to view here.

Pardon? Four to eight weeks so I can view something online? For fuck sakes they could send me the bill by mule train and I'd get it sooner. Talk about a nice idea but totally fucking up expectations and deliver.

At least they sent you a bill...Rogers hasn't sent me one in like, 4 months. And they said it would take 3 to 5 days to get my new phone...and it's been 3+ weeks. Blah. So Bell isn't the only way shitty provider.

My boss regularly gets 7 and 8 page monthly bills from Rogers that are usually billing under $2 worth of charges (long distance charges on a residential landline). Primus, on the other hand, will bill when the total balance owing hits $20 or every three months, whichever happens first. Lest you think they know what they're doing at Primus, though, I was once on speaker phone hold with their call centre for more than three hours while my boss and I drank beer and yapped. They'd chime in every three minutes or so with "a customer service representative will be with you shortly". At the half hour mark, we were so intrigued by the notion of how long it actually would take them to answer, we just left it on speaker phone and got down to some serious beer consumption. At the three hour mark, having run out of Corona, we concluded that Primus must have outsourced their call centre to somewhere on the planet Neptune and hung up.

I will be getting / viewing my bills online just as soon as those mofos give me an appropriate discount commensurate with the amount they save. I mean, they save on the paper, envelope, postage etc., shouldn't their customers get at least half the cost savings?

Amature ;)

The real cell bill (for the phone that actually gets used) is freaking huge. I can't recall the last month it was under $700 and 20+ pages. I think the phone company should be giving me a kwanza blowjob!

Absolutely. Number portability for cell's is going to be a massive bonus for the consumer. If you absolutely must purchase a phone before the telco's start rolling it out go month to month and don't sign a contract. I may just get my blowjob :)

Same holds true when purchasing online vs. a bricks/morter store. Its all well and good that they offer free shipping but its still an economic bonus for them to sell online.
