Fine, you don't like rumsfeld or think he was an awful sec-def but to call him "hitler-like" is beyond foolish and makes her look like an idiot. Hitler was directly responsible for the death of millions of people and arguably one of the worst cases of genocide the world has ever seen. To use him as a casual reference is insulting to everyone involved.

the View is probably the worst waste of air-space ever conceived ...

considering these broads were hand-picked by Barb Walters it just
goes to show that ignorance knows no boundaries.

let's face it, when you get bitch-slapped by kelly ripa, you have
no claim to intelligence!

The View and everyone on it (except for Elisabeth) is fucked up! Can't they come up with something better for housewives to waste an hour of their day?

It's funny she thought the audience reaction was the fact she used "Donald R"'s name - it was because she likened him to Hitler.

The View is as bad as the Maury show, Jerry Springer, Judge "anything" and is a sad statement of American Culture.

I mean with crap like that what does America have to be proud of??????

Any comparison of Rumsfeld to Hilter is complete bollocks. Actually using him as a casual reference like that almost downplays the tragedy of his genocidal madness and does a disservice to all those Jewish people who lost their lives.
Rumsfield is an intellectual technocrat that has always worked behind the scenes rather than take an out front leadership position. He has never seen combat.

Hitler was a man of limited education that worked via impulse and emotion. He craved, sought and siezed power, even at personal risk. He was a decorated combat veteran.

Rumsfeld was part of a governmental administration that got involved in a poorly thought out, poorly executed minor war of power projection and dominance to protect their nation's supremacy.

Hitler led a movement and government that followed a policy of world conquest via force and terror, intended to remove all other nations and societies and resulted in a war that led to 60 - 150 million deaths and the total extermination of a 1000 year old european culture, along with most of the people in it.

Clearly, to anyone with a neuron to spare. Rumsfeld is neither like Hitler in nature, position or effect.

I think Lord Palmerston might be a closer historical parallel. I would suggest that Ms Behar borrow a few neurons, since she has none to spare, and read up on the Crimean war.

Fictional comparisons would be more apt...

Rumsfeld is more like Number Two (to Cheney's Dr. Evil). Bush, of course, is Mini-Me.
