Actually the MOST DANGEROUS thing, is for the terrorists to perceive that there is dissention in our government and in our population about the war.

Those who are demonstrating against the war, etc, are merely giving the terrorists exactly what they want and if such demonstrations increase as the result of any such attack, that will just encourage them to continue to attack until they get what they want.

Remember, their motto is 'kill all the infidels' and WE are the infidels...

These are people who attacked troops when they were handing out candy to children. Do you really think that giving them what they want is a great idea?
Exactly, you can't reason with fanatics!

The one thing they have going for them is their blind ambition and unwavering unity of purpose.

I can't understand the "second rate crusaders" quote, canadian troops are among the best trained in the world. I guess they are starting to learn that in kandahar. I only wish I was younger, I'd rejoin and give them a taste of
' second rate'

Speaking as an American, I truly believe that the Canadian troops are doing an excellent job in Afghanistan, but more help is needed from other countries. It kills me to hear Canadian soldiers dying.Canada has guts unlike Spain who voted to pull out and not fight terrorism- it makes me wonder does Spain have an NDP like government running them?

Al Queda warns Canada

Absolutely gutted about Canadian loss of life as their role is that of peace keeping.

However, Spain not fighting terrorism?? What do you think that the Spanish have been dealing with for the last 30 years with ETA? I realise that as a US citizen, you have a myopic view of your own importance, but Europe has had a long history of dealing with terrorism (IRA, Red Brigade for example) long before the US thought it was important.

Specifically, the Spanish public (these would be the people that the govermenment answers to) reacted 1) to the lies of the elected government (because they claimed ETA did it) and 2) had already strong misgivings about support to a cause that did not directly affect them. THEIR democratic process effected the change in government after the electorate found that they had been attacked because involvement in a process they did not support.

Not everyone in the world feels. or acts, the way as you do. At least try to respect other countries democratic process.
