:D Wow, what a trip. Went to Puerto Vallarta, first time in Mexico - absolutely unbelievable. The men down there treat women with such respect it kinda blew my mind. Not only do they not allow you to pay for anything, but offer you everything. Got to stay at a phenomenal time share estate on the ocean, infinity pool, swim up bar, fully furnished, indoor and outdoor showers off every bedroom, flat screen tv's EVERYWHERE, 2 living rooms, stocked with food, alcohol, personal hygiene needs, security checkpoints everywhere to make sure others can't come in... and most astonishing of all was I never even met the gentlemen who graciously allowed us to stay there for free, no strings!!!

What a beautiful city, from the cobblestone streets, the rivers in the jungle, to the statues built in the sand everywhere along the malacon, fireworks, huge alien statues everywhere, but most of all the people. They were sooo kind, helpful, and LOVE Canadians.

It was amazing, but will be even better next time now that I know what to expect and what a beautiful culture they are blessed with.

Wow... I've never really wanted to go to Mexico, but now I really do!

Not that it's any of my business, but were you there on work? I was just curious because he mentioned that a gentlemen allowed you to be there for free.

I think I'd stay out of the hotels and explore the rivers and statues and people and scenery. I get enough flat screen TV's here in Vancouver. :) I'm glad you had such a good time!

I wouldn't go. I heard of this one dude went there and got off the tourist areas and woke up the next morning in a bath tub of ice with his kidney missing.

Please don't misunderstand me.

It sounds like a great vaction & you enjoyed the experience.

I just think its sad that we even need to surround ourselves with security to keep people out.:(

Yeah, I know, but I believe that they do it for safety reasons as I found that many of the Mexican men don't take no for an answer very easily (not dangerously, but very persistent) because they really want to be around you.

Not really, I did put my ad on a few Mexican sites and got some replies, mostly emails though. But after advertising, I realized that with almost all the accomodations they give you an arm band and you are only allowed the people that are checked in and 1 guest that needs to be documented and banded at the check-in counter. So that is fine if you have an all-nighter - but even then if you give the name of the person to be coming what if he's a no show? So the safest way to go is to find accomodations with outside private access with no security check points.

Hope this helps!:)
