This will probably get moved since it's not a review but I thought that I'd ask considerring this is a LOCAL question.
I'm moving next month and need a mover. I've always done it myself but now that all of my friends are old, fat and arthritic, I need to hire someone for the heavier items. I've heard so many horror stories about various movers.
Anyone out there know of anybody reliable. Price is not a big concern. Being ontime and not dropping/damaging anything (Especially my big portrait of 'Dogs Playing Poker' on Back Velvet) is what I need.
Thanks.

I am moving this weekend myself.

I dug around for a bit of info.
While I am in BC not Manitoba, maybe some applies.

It seems many, but not all big moving companies tend to get a bit careless.

So after a bit of research I decided to hire a small local company.

Basically a group of guys that bought a large cube truck and some straps and blankets to protect furniture and went into business.
I got their name from a realtor...so you may wish to ask some realtors in your area for advice.

These guys really seem to care from our phone convo.
I have some irreplaceable antiques and such. They promised me they will be very careful.
I asked for referances and was in return asked how many i wanted....3 or 30.
I called 2....both had nothing but great things to say about these guys.

Hope that helps :)

I cannot even be home as they move my stuff this weekend...I have to be out of town working, so extra trust was required...but I am confident it will be okay.
