Question About Motels In Edmonton...?

I will be visiting Edmonton in a few weeks, but have never been there before...as of last year this is my first time in this part of the country. So, what I want to know is where are the motels and what prices am I looking at for a room for about 3 nights?

Not sure where you want to be or price, or ammenities etc you hope for.
But the last time i was there i stayed at the Fantasy land hotel right in the mall....was kinda cool.
They have theme rooms to.
Not the cheapest, but close to most things.
I could just walk down to bourbon alley and drink and look at the sexy ladies shopping.

If flying into the edmonton international airport....do not get a hotel near the airport unless you like being out in the country.
The edmonton int airport is no where near to edmonton...actually its a good bus ride or rent a car into town...its actually in a whole different town its so far away. I just forget what its called right now....I just remember the first time i flew into it and rented a car, i drove and drove.
Actually thought i was lost for a bit, and then finally there was Edmonton. Just a warning if you have never been there before.

With any luck you could get a flight into the Muni airport.

Have fun :D

Actually, I am coming from Calgary...by bus.

I am going to visit WEM, but I do not want to stay at the hotel as I do not have that kind of money...so where are the motels -- read: not hotels -- as long as they are not all that expensive?

I stayed at the Day's Inn downtown last time I was there (two weekends ago). Rooms totally renovated, great location - Tim Horton's, a Subway, a BP, an Internet Cafe, bus to the WEM, and Penthouse, all within 2 blocks. $71.99 CAA rate booked thru TripRewards for 2 Queens. Thought it was great value for the price.

If you don't have access to a car you might want to stay downtown. More to do within walking distance. There's an Econo Lodge, Comfort Inn, and a Days Inn there and you'll probably be looking at about $70/night business rates. Phone ahead and make sure though. West end there's a ton of places along Stony Plain Road that are about a five minute drive north of West Edmonton Mall. Again theres a Comfort Inn and a Days Inn there, or you might try the West Harvest Inn. You'll have to take a cab most places to do anything though. Have fun in Edmonton, I know I always do.:D

Word of advice, stick with the MPs in Edmonton. There's are a few independent's who are all right for outcall, but all of the escort agencies in town will rip you off big time. Stay off the street also. Most of the girls there are the truly desperate. They say they caught the serial killer, but I think a lot of women are still going to be pretty cautious.

If you do insist on getting an outcall, I wouldn't worry too much about what the staff think. Believe me, they've seen it all. About the only trouble you'll get in is if she smokes and it's a non-smoking room. Either that or meet her outside and send her in a couple of minutes ahead of you. Then just get on the elevator together if it's a keyed elevator. If it's not, then just tell her to come straight to your room.

Hey VRG

If you walk through a Lobby holding a gals hand and talking, i bet that no one gives it a second thought.
If you wander around looking suspicious, they will wonder WTF you are up to.

So meet her take her hand and just pretend its your GF or whatever.:)

A GF in a motel, looks pretty weird...I'd rather go to a motel that the office is away from the rooms; so does anyone know of any?!?!

ok I'm confused. How does a girlfriend at a motel look weird? I've often had my girlfriend with me when I've gone to a motel.
From some of the questions you've asked I wonder if you've ever done this before. If you haven't, no worries, we've all been there, done that. However, if your an old pro at this, man, maybe this isn't for you. Seems to me that you may be feeling guilty doing this.

Additionally, if you think that the people that work at the motel will think badly of you for having a sp, think again. They see so many people that you will blend in with the rest. They don't care. As long as you pay for the room, leave the room in good condition and don't steal any towels, you're good to go.

I've only ever gone to MPs and a few indies & SW in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal.

The problem is, I do not 'blend' in as I am a visible minority...so this is why I ask about specific motels.

Now, can anyone who lives in Edmonton give me an answer without avoiding the question.

I am curious to....if not to a motel or hotel, just where would you take a GF ?

Anyways...why not google edmonton accomodations or something like that.
or go to any chamber of commerce or tourist info place and pick up an alberta accomodations guide...they are free also.
I got one at my local tourist place....actually 2- one for Alberta and another for BC.
Only places you may wish to stay away from is a B&B run by a militant religous couple. ;)

LOL...dude......nobody cares.....pound her on the hood of your car in the parking lot and all you'll get is an audience.
And for being a visable minority, unless you are GREEN ....... nobody cares.... you are over thinking a lot of nothing
