Sex slaves in Vancouver

This no doubt will be a sensitive topic here but one I think might warrant some interesting discussion.

Wai Chi Michael Ng is accused of operating a massage parlor and no doubt people from this board have partaken in the services offered. A former employee has testified that she was forced to work as a sex slave.

The question where does our responsibility begin with a micro or massage parlor that may have indentured employees?

I am not judging in anyway what other perbites have done or not done. We all know the issues with the hobby, we know or should know and accept the risks. I am not naïve enough to think that a PERB code of conduct will be the result of this discussion. I believe everyone has to make his or her own decisions based one your own values.

Your comments please.

Alleged human trafficker in this morning
Mar, 28 2006 - 5:00 AM

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The Federal Court trial of the first person to be charged with trafficking humans in Canada starts today.
Wai Chi Michael Ng is facing 21 counts of violating the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

The 43-year old has been under investigation since May of 2004.

He's accused of bringing women into Canada, then forcing them into prostitution. The charges include seven counts of bawdy house offences, as well as smuggling, human trafficking, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The trial is slated to start at 9:30 a.m. in courtroom 510.

If he really did promise them other things but then forced them to work in the sex industry, I hope he gets nailed for life and then some. Fucking bastard!

However, I do know that micro and MP operators go to Asia or are in contact with agents from Asia that recruit girls who are already in that industry. Contact info for the operators here are given to the girls and the girls typically come here on their own volition to work. Still seemy, but it seems a lot of the Chinese girls who work do so under those circumstances.

Still, I think that agents and/or micro/AMP operators who do so using these means, without transporting them here or forcing them, are highly at risk under the law for human trafficking. I believe that LE would flexibly interpret these laws such to prosecute these guys as much as possible, and I think the Crown would not hesitate to go through with that prosecution. When you're dealing with immigrants or illegals without work visa, the law looks upon this with high suspicion of coercion and other unseemly tactics. I say go after these bastards. I've heard of enough of their tactics from the girls that I'd help LE myself.

Canada's new human trafficking law helps nab such characters who procure sex workers for Canada from abroad. Michael Ng is the first to be charged under this law. The agents and the micros operate in the shadows, trying to stay out of LE vision, and these are the areas in which one is more likely to find victims.

The AMPs are visible inasmuch as they are licensed and easily subject to surveillance by LE since their locations are known. Activities such as alleged to have been committed by Michael Ng at his former AMP, King City Accupressure, are much less likely in today's AMP environment. Of course, one need not consider at all a lady is who 100% independent and without a pimp.

Sometimes there are girls who come temporarily to Canada and work without visas to make money to take back home to their families. These women are usually not welcome in today's AMPs as their presence, even when unsought and completely voluntary, runs afoul of the licensing rules, and the AMP's license can be suspended for a period or even permanently by City Hall. There is little incentive for an AMP owner to employ such girls, as even a potential loss of even a week or two of lost revenue is not worth having them around. These women are more likely to be found in micros.

I encourage all Perberts, who may in their travels discover such abuse occurring, to contact LE and help bring an end to this despicable crime of human trafficking.

I think the real question is how do you know?

I think everyone would agree that if they knew, they wouldn't go.
But how do you know?

The transaction is at best an act, & at worst a farce.
In the shady world of sex for hire, there are as many stories as there are participants. How do you identify the movement of human cargo? I don't know.

Do you?
I'd love to know, so I can avoid supporting that establishment.

In a nice wet pussy!
People, these "establishments" are a lot more common than one would have you believe. Many are called "MICROS" in here. Others are regular MPs. I think many of us know who they are, or what they look like. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then IT most likely IS a duck...

"OK, so the owner is a nice guy - but is he really?" You've got what he wants, he's got what you wants. It's all harmless fun, you say?

Hmmm...

She revealed in Court today that she was expected to generate a minimum $11,000/month in order to earn $1,100. Anything less was taken off her "wages". These numbers are not fabricated; I know many girls who have gone through this identical process in varying degrees, whether from China, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, or others. For most, this is the price they must pay to get into Canada. The fee to the girls vary from $30K to $50K, and the interest rate on unpaid balances can reach a whopping 50%. If the girl is not so good looking, she's stuck in this cesspool for a long time. Right now, with business down at most shops, it can take the girls 3-5 years to get out of debt. She also claimed to have been forced to have anal sex, and many clients asked for and did not use condoms. No surprise here; this is so common, it's pathetic. The girls are trapped, and can't even communicate with the outside world anyway.

She'll likely be sent back to China, facing an uncertain fate for having outed this creep; the snakeheads will be waiting for her coming off the plane.

If anyone is frequenting these sweatshops in here, YOU are an important part in this human traffic. You know who you are...

Buyer Beware.

Some hints...

Here are some hints for you that might tell you something is wrong:

-The person you are contacting almost cannot speak english, basically, after giving it some thinking, you could see that the person would not be able to communicate with others if she was on her own. This shows lack of independence.

-Evidence of beatings or bruises. Most of these persons are treated very poorly. Some are killed.

-The price: if it's too good to be true, then it probably hints at exploitation.

-Evidence of imprisonment, chains, ropes, no means to leave the room easily, zealous supervision by the manager.

There was a documentary about the topic on CBC about girls brought to Canada from Europe, so it doesn't have to be asia only.

In case of doubt, an anonymous call to the police can be very valuable for these persons.

Ya, that would seem to be a rather subtle hint..
