Yeah, the vice squad is out. They just busted me on Tuesday. It was in Vancouver on Victoria, one block off Powell.

Just cruising, and I happen to see a SW who doesn't look like a Junkie.
Pull up, start talking...just messing around. Conversation goes like this:
(Hopefully one of you Cops is reading this cause this was real bullshit..)

me "what's up"
her "what are you looking for"
me "you got a place"
her "yeah, just down the block"
me "get it"
her "you got money"
me "yeah get it"
her "what do you want"
..then I look at her, she’s wearing a long jacket and showing a hint of cleavage(small boobed)"
me "are you a cop?"
her "no, I’m just doing this for money for school"
me "get in"
her "do you have money"
me "yes"
her "don't waste my time"
me "are you a cop?"
her "NO!"
me "I'm outta here"
her "don't waste my time, c'mon $20, what do you want"
me" ummm, a BJ" as soon as I say that BAM ..outta nowhere 2 cop cars block me in, one head on and one from behind.
cop "get out of the car...yada yada yada. your under arrest for
communicating to a hooker for the purpose of ***(however they worded it)."

cuff me, check me out, I tell the Cop off the bat I had a beef before (not related in anyway). Then I ask if I'm going to the cop shop or not. Then some guy takes a pic of me, I'm like WTF, then the cops are like, it's just for our squad yada yada yada. Then the cop says OK, I'm taking your honesty into consideration so, you can be charged or go talk to this guy. Hands me a pamphlet for John school and says, you better get a hold of this guy or I'm gonna come find you and charge you.
I'm like Ok. Then they release me.

I get home, look at this shit, says I gotta go talk to some guy at the John Howard Society for the Prostitution Offender Program where i MUST PAY A $500 registration fee at time of talking to counselor and attend an 8 hour program!?!?!?!

The more I think about, I think I'm gonna get a lawyer. This is BS. I'd rather give a lawyer a few grand than go through this.

The way I look at it, I asked the undercover twice for sure (maybe even a third time) if she was a cop, and twice I said "this is sketchy, I’m outta here" and was gonna leave but she kept the conversation going
so IMO to a certain degree it was entrapment.

Anyone else got stories!!!

BTW, I don't even pic up SW. I just fuck around once in a while, but not anymore.

Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated.

"Are you a cop?" is crap

A word to the wise:

Many people believe that if you ask someone "Are you a cop?", and they are, then they have to tell the truth, or else it's entrapment. This is a MYTH. The police are allowed to use trickery in their work, and it takes more than posing as a SP to be entrapment.

That said, it would be worth your while investing a little bit of money to at least consult a criminal lawyer to see where you stand.

Your not given a court summons or arrested and hauled away? Your photo is taken and told to walk but get counselling?? Sounds more like a scare tactic to get you off the street. They can't force you to see counselling and like hell I'm go to see someone and say "I've been a baaaaaddddd boyyyyyyy"

Throw the pamphlet away and stick to the MP or Independents.

Not Legit

Cops couldn't be bothered to properly book you, etc.
The pamphlet and crap is a scare tactic.

How can he charge you now? NOT LEGIT, forget it!

I'm not a lawyer but two things come to mind off the top of my head. One is that you're still presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; and the cops are not judges and juries..so they don't have any authority to hand out punishment that I'm aware of.

Vancouver
Vancouver Finest????

I guess this makes up for spending their time eating donuts while more than 60 SW were murdered. Bother everyone - and solve nothing.

As a Vancouver home owner, business owner I have ZERO respect for the vancouver Police. WTF are they doing - solve some REAL crime. These guys are just getting their rocks off by putting the fear into the average joe.

Sounds like at least 6 staff members, planning time, etc just to get this guy shaken in his boots!

Sorry to hear your story! Now they want to give guns to the Customs officers - like those guys need to be on MORE of a power trip!

next time negotiate in the car..drive around the block with the sw...if she doesnt go in your car...get out of there..she's a le
im no expert or anything but this sounds bang on.

it would be too much of a risk for a female LE to get into a car. the guy driving could go crazy once he found out what she is and drive into a wall or oncoming traffic.

She'd NEVER get IN the car!

LE would NEVER get in the car with anyone. Period.

Personally I am glad SW are there because WYSIWYG... at least appearance-wise. There are no scary surprises as one may experience when the door opens for the first time and "she" ain't who she said she was on the phone or in the ad.

But with that convenience comes some risk. There are some SWs who have been working Vancouver/Bby tracks for years. Obviously (should they interest you) those are "safe". It's the NEW ones who must "raise a flag" in your mind when you first see them.

Do what LE does... do a bit of detective work BEFORE making first contact. Sit back in your vehicle in an area where you can watch some goings-on between her and other traffic. Obviously don't perch yourself across the street from her. See if she gets IN to cars... see if she goes AWAY for a while only to return again and repeat the process.

Even if you MISS her that night because she goes away a couple of times and never returns, you will have probably done yourself a favour. Now... if she DOES return the next night, and goes about her business, what are the odds she IS LE?

But if they are very attractive, and NEW out there... stay back and watch.

I cannot tell you how often this strategy has saved my bacon.

It's only when I ignored my own little advice that I have been nailed. Fortunately never charged... but it was close... real close.

So from one who has seen it and really knows it, don't approach someone new without scoping out the situation first.

Or go with the ones who are "tried and true".

And oh yeah... the advice about asking her into your car is bang-on, because she shouldn't get in if she is LE.

On the other hand, I try to NEVER pull my car up beside anyone I don't know anyway. I would rather first see if any LE cars are lurking in alleys nearby first, then park. Then I go up to her face to face to judge her reaction to ME, what she says and HOW she says it.

The last LE who tried to snare me kept asking "what I wanted". She said, "Do you wanna go?" Real persistent. It was too much so I just passed and watched. Two cars later, BAM! She was a busy little camper for about 2 hours out there. Too bad... she was cute!

Talked to a ;laywer and he suggested to go to john school. Bite the bullet?
Well, I went to see to John school guy and he pretty much told me that if I didn't take this program, the police WILL charge me, this WILL go to court costing me a few thousand in Lawyer fees and I WILL be convicted and at minimum the Judge will send me to John School. WTF?!?!? Pay the $500 and forget about it or what? This is BS....

get a 2nd opinion dude... solicitation charges are total bs.. IMO worth the couple thousand to beat the charge and not have anything hovering over your head in the future (as in a criminal conviction/plea bargain being associated with your name).

my two pennies..

the whole point of John school is to AVOID being charged, no plea bargain or anything like that. I have not been charged with any crime, arrested yes, but not charged. The way they present this program is: Go to School or GET CHARGED!!!
Still BS, I wonder if I told the guy at the John School that there's no way in hell I'm going to voluntarily take the John program the cops would actually waste their time looking for me.

If you subject yourself to "john" school.... you're in a way admitting guilt and risk being entered into the D.I.S.C. database . You may have already been entered into the database. You dont have to be convicted to be entered as a "person of interest" ( at least i think that's how it works ). Go get a second opinion, and like the saying goes... you get what you pay for... so find a good (not inexpensive) lawyer. Personally, it'd be worth about 10K to me to beat it.

quoted directly from one of the the above links...

"The DISC system's core functions include: maintaining a database of individuals participating in sex trade activities; protecting at-risk youth from sex trade recruitment; and identifying and tracking pimps, recruiters, consumers, workers and others of special interest "

chances are that you're already on their radar screen... as opposed to flying below it. :(

Oh.. and btw, If you do get a good defense lawyer, he'll make sure the charge never makes it on the judges docket... EVER!! Thats what your paying for. Sounds like you talked to some 2 bit lawyer not worth the paper his degree is on.

Like ghostie said.. solicitation charges are bullshit and seldom make it to trial. So don't lay down, fight them all the way, and make sure your lawyer gets that stupid polaroid shot of you back when he gets the charges dropped.

again, my two cents.. they're just trying to scare you man... get a good (read not cheap) lawyer, you'd be surprised what they can get you off of.

Yeah, the John School guy told me I was entered into DISC, and that I will be re-entered into the system if I am ever seen just cruising by SWs.

The idea of beating this has been running through my mind, the only thing that is holding me back is the expensive lawyer fees.

here's a simple solution for those who got busted while cruising.. speaking outta experience with some law study background.

1) if you are busted, the less u say to them piggies the better
2) dont worry, you will not be heading down to the station with them, u will 99.9% of the get a john prg to attend to or a court appearance to attend to
because them piggies dont have the patience or time to take anyone down to do 2 hours of paper work on this minor things (u might panic first, but go home take a nice sleep and tomorrow u will see it's not a biggie)
3) give a shout to a lawyer for a free consultation the next day
4) to rid of the monkey on your back with u only attending 1 court appearance and set as a free man on the cruise again would be $2000

i know.. that 2k could've been 10 hotties treating u like a king, but consider it cheap to cure a bugger pimple on ur nose.. :D
