He won't do anything with closing massage parlors once he gets a decent cut of the profits they generate. Not to mention the extra incentive if you know what I mean.

Have not province
:( The NPA is bad news for the strip club business. They cancelled duos and axed the upstairs rooms at the 5 thanks to their liquor policy.:(

I'm not sure Sam Sullivan is the type of guy who would promote Fun-couver.

Funcouver was dead along time ago. Don't forget it was an NPA dominated parks board which put in curfews on the beaches. No one ever asked me about it? I guess we can't have people partying on beaches, that would be horribly wrong. Even though some of the beaches are far enough away, that no one would be bothered. During the baby boomers era they used to have tons of people living at wreck beach and partying all the time. Now we need everything quite so all the retired people can get their sleep

Think about it a little. If he were to 'clean up the streets' where would that limited financial city money go? Or are the developers going to move right in and take up the slack? I don't think so, any developers will take at least five years to move in to the paying taxes level. :)

I was hoping Green would get in so he would have some power to do more in the area of social housing, promoting bike traffic and helping out the poor.

Sullivan won the crackhead vote

Not only has Sam Sullivan given his own money to help crackheads buy crack --- tax dollars he "earned" by sitting (but not doing much) on city council --- but he's also admitted to allowing crackheads to light up in his van.

So while Jim "Jabba the Hutt" Green was wasting tax dollars (most of which came from Ottawa, btw) on treatment programs, counseling, beds for recovering addicts, and generally trying to help addicts change their lives, Sam Sullivan was out buying crack and helping us smoke it.

This is why every crackhead in the city voted NPA. We organized on the sly. We had a secret handshake. (OK, actually it was more of an full-body shake.) We held secret rallies in Sullivan's van. And we elected our man!

Having won Vancouver City Hall, we crackheads are now setting our sights on The White House. Our motto: Smoke Crack, Not Iraq.

so u think he's gonna put up brothels like the ones in amsterdam and make a part of the city like a red light district?
u think he's gonna put more effort and more police power to patrol the streets and set up sting operations on parlors as well as the streets or u think he really ain't gonna do nothing about it and focus his power somewhere else?
u think with him in power that the vancouver streets are gonna be like when it was in the 90's which was really good from what i've heard and read? maybe cuz he might want some action too.
