If we give cloutier it should only be a year. If he injures himself again or doesnt prove himself in the playoffs ....dump his pretty boy ass. Not sure the nucks can afford a proven goalie with the cap.

There is still some time, but as of today, most of the Canucks' western conference rivals have gained alot in comparson, including the teams the Canucks play the most such as Edmonton, Calgary, Anaheim, and Los Angeles.

Who knows how far they could've gone? That's true. The other teams had to make changes just to get on a level with the Canucks. Maybe also true.

Still, it's hard to watch the Canucks sit by with all the big signings that have hit the wires every few hours this week. I can't count Naslund in that lot since it seemed far fetched he would ever go somewhere else.

Letting both Malik and Sopel go would make you like to think there is a plan to improve the Canucks back line, but who is left to sign?

I'll give them a week before I write off their efforts, but right now it doesn't look very good. The only positive is that games will be more interesting and exciting to watch given all the star power the other teams have signed.

I dont think the nucks management are gonna improve their lineup at all. They realize that they've sold enough tickets and wont spend more money.

I think the Goalie issue was answered last Playoffs-- Clouts has to go!! And I heard on CKNW rumors about Theodore and Khabibullin (sp ?).

I think Nonis is waiting to hear on the issue of Big Bert. If he's suspended another 20 games, the Canucks will have an extra 1.3 mil available to use this season before the cap.

The Canucks will get a major upgrade simply by the addition of Ryan Kesler to the lineup. The strike/lockout meant he got to spend an entire year in the AHL honing his skills. With the possible exception of Naslund, there won't be a more talented player in the Vancouver training camp. And he doesn't even turn 21 till the end of August.

Hmmmmm ... I think this is a classic example of shilling, isn't it? :D

1. B is an abbreviation of A.

2. B is a figure of speech.

If Brent Sopel was a salary dump, why not dump a salary from the 4th line such as Chubarov? Replacing 2 d-men is harder than replacing 1 d-man and one forward.
