Hotels in Vancouver

I am coming for a few days next month and need some suggestions on hotels. I am looking for something that is not too pricey, but I don't want the ceiling to be falling in on me so not too cheap. $100-$140 would be in the right price range, but a bit more (or perhaps a bit cheaper) would do me fine.
Any recommendations? Also, where are the good places to eat and where should I stay away from? Thanks in advance!

My main purpose for coming over there would be to do some XXX content. The company has agreed to pay the flight, but I need to either stay with them or get a hotel. I was thinking of getting a hotel just so I have some a lone time. I do not plan on having any guests, but I may change my mind over the next few weeks. We shall see...

You didn't really specify which area you were planning on staying. If you don't need to stay downtown you could get a hotel in Richmond, not too far from the airport and rent a car to get you around. Most of the Richmond hotels should fit your criteria. You'd definitely get more bang for your buck by staying in an outlying suburb city like Richmond or Burnaby. As a comparison the Sheraton in Richmond is about $150 / night while the Sheraton downtown is over $200. The difference is that Richmond Sheraton is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Vancouver and the Vancouver Sheraton is on Burrard Street within easy walking distance from Robson St.

If you are staying downtown and don't want to pay the downtown prices, check out the Howard Johnson on Granville St... http://www.hojovancouver.com/hotel_info.html

Food: So many choices to pick from and not enough space... what types of cuisine are your favorites?

Downtown is really small

everything is walking distance. With that said, if the weather is bad, or you really are aversive to physical activity, the transit system here is second to none.

Have fun in Vancouver!

Okay, I am looking for a hotel downtown prefferably because I do not drive. Is public transport any good? I need to be able to get to my shoots.
The Bosman Motel on Howe St is downtown. And the buses are quite
regular especially in and to that area. What streets are the shoots on?

I am not quite sure yet. I am still trying to get all stuff together so the production company and I have not set a date, but I do know it will be soon. I think I will be working when I come in to Vancouver.
