Vancouver in the Spring... what to do, where to stay...

Sydney

Professional Paramour
Hi,
I am planning a trip to Vancouver in the Spring, probably May, to celebrate my One Year Anniversary as an Indy. I am going to spoil myself with a photo shoot with Derek and live anygirls dream of wandering the streets, shopping and well, shopping.

I need a few ideas as to where to stay. Somewhere real nice within walking distance to Robson. I know I can't be near everything but IF there is a hotel that is near most great things to see and do, lead me to it! Client friendly locations (ie:no elevator key) as well may be helpful.

Is Robson really the best place to shop? I have been there and yes, it was great but maybe there are other options.
And what about lingerie stores? Help this prairie girl out!

Thanks.

Try the Syliva Hotel right down by English Bay. It's an older funky place right across from the water. The beds are super soft and very comfy and access to rooms are very discrete for clients.

You could also just come to Calgary and then we could take the Motor home to Vancouver!

I would love to give you a guided tour of the Mountains!

I stayed at the Pan Pacific this past summer. Sweet sweet view of the harbour, great service, and I managed to bring in an SP for an evening. And just a few blocks from Robson.

Thanks for the input.

I'm narrowing it down to a few hotels on Robson. Seems to be the most convenient for what I wanna do. And some are very reasonably priced.

Any warnings of where NOT to stay (on Robson)?

Can someone clarify for me (yes I have looked on maps but they don't always show ALL the streets)...

Is the Pacific Centre Mall just a block off Robson?
(and when I say Robson I mean where the concentration of shopping is)(between Jervis (or Denman?) and Burrard?).

Also, the museum, is it walking distance from Robson as well?

Thanks for any info.

p.s. I know I used too many of these ---> ( and these ---> ).

The main shopping strip on Robson Street starts at Burrard and extends west four about half a dozen blocks. The Empire Landmark is at the west end of the main shopping area.

Pacific Centre is 2 blocks east of Burrard and extends north from Robson Street.

If you mean the Vancouver Art Gallery, it's across the street from Pacific Centre.

The Vancouver Museum is just across the bridge in Kitsilano, sharing the building with the planetarium.
But the best museum is the Museum of Natural History farther west at UBC.

i still think sutton place is one of my favorite hotels.no key elevator.nice rooms.good mini bar.they also have a wicked chocolate dessert tray you can ordered to your room.that you can really have fun with with a client or s.o i luv that hotel thats where my regular clients from out of town usually stay for all nighter parties with me.we can be pretty noisy sometimes and there is never any complaints to keep the noise down.

also the waterfront is good too. nice view.no key locked elevators.

i use to luv the renissance and pan pacific but they put in the key locked elevators.the security at the pan pacific are like bitter security guards that never made it into the police force or something.holy power trip and very rude at times.every time i go there i want to spin kick them in the head(dominant leilani coming out)

i hope that helps

Pan Pacific

I just got home from 2 nights in the Waterfront. It is a fantastic hotel.

I agree about the twits the Pan uses for security. It was only 1am and the 3 man security team led by a 140 pound dweeb were at the door. When I answered the door they asked for the registered guest, I said I would get him. I then proceeded to close the door and this little twit had his foot on it. Told him to get away from the door and continued to close the door. He started to push back. Hahaha, 140 lbs vs 250 it was funny. Any way we had to shut it down and we were not really that noisy.

The good old days in the Pan for the TLA convention seem to have slowed down, you used to be able to find all night parties on the corner suites (_ _36) on most floors.

Pan Pacific

The Pan Pacific has started to go downhill since they were sold about a year and half ago. The new owners are bunch of penny-pinching misers who are more interesting in squeezing money out of everybody than in running a world class hotel.
