Hey all..

Anyone know of a good resturant in SurreyN. Delta area?

Going out for Parents Anniversary, Total of 10 of us, including my nephew that is just 1 y.o.

Looking for a good Place to go for dinner that would appeal to all of the above.

Tired of the Earl's/Boston Pizza/Cactus Club/Red Robin, but don't want anything too fancy or dumpy.

Anyone know of anywhere??

HELP!

How about Italian? That seems to appeal to most…

I highly recommend going to Villa Verdi on 80th and King George Hwy. They have fantastic pastas as well as rack of lamb, steaks, seafood etc… It might be a little fancier than what you’re looking for, but the food rocks! It is very reasonably priced for the quality food you get (entrees between $14 – 25). The service is also top notch. It doesn’t look pretty from the outside but I think you’ll be happy once you’re inside.

If you like Greek… food that is… there’s a good Greek restaurant on Scott Road and 80th, however the name escapes me at the moment…

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks HAW,

Yeah the Villa Verdi is great.. however some of us ate there last weekend.. and it is allittle fancier than what I was thinkin as we have a youngin with us who like to scream and shout!

My dad hates greek, but I know the restuarnt you are thinkin of.. it is right across the Cactus club. It is pretty good.

I'm goin to keep lookin!! Any other suggestions?

There's a few good restaurants in Surrey - or so I'm told.

There's a small restaurant on the north side of the 401, near Guildford that I've been to a couple times. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it but perhaps someone else on PERB does.

It's not too large but can hold your party. I thought the food and service was quite good and the atmosphere was far better than the chain type restaurants. It seems to be family owned/operated and has a menu with enough variety that even the vegetarians can find something to eat. Must be pretty good as I was there mid-week once and they were busy - mostly with a lot of locals who lived in the area.

I think it's just off 160th Street, about 5 blocks or so north of the freeway. It's in a little L-shaped strip mall type of place.

I think it beats the Earl's/Boston Pizza/Cactus Club/Red Robin restaurants.

Oh yes - I think it may also be in the Entertainment book so you can save a few bucks. I haven't been there for months so perhaps someone else on PERB knows its name and can say whether its still any good.

Would that be the Royal Oak on Fraser Hwy? It's a good restaurant that's not too fancy.

If you are responding to my post, it's definitely not on Fraser Highway. Fraser Highway is south of the freeway.

The place I mentioned on 160th is in the mall north of the freeway. It's a smaller restaurant (maybe capacity of 60 or so). Not overly fancy but comfortable and reasonably well decorated with a homey type atmosphere. There were a number of young families with children last time I visited and also some seniors so they cater to all ages.

I'll see if I can find the name and exact location and post it if no one knows what it's called.

Is MANDO'S still around ... it was a great restaurant across from a mall on a main drag ... Burnaby or Surrey - I can't remember.

What incredible food they had.

Sadly Mandos is no more... They were located on Kingsway about a block away from Metrotown... You were right, they did have good food. Unfortunately they've been closed for at least 6 years.

I think they got their name from JRR Tolkien's Books about the Halls of Mandos where the spirits of elves and men reside...yeah yeah I know... GEEK CHECK!

if you like Greek <food>, try New York New York. In a strip mall on the corner of 152nd street & 64th avenue. Looking about 15.00 - 20.00 for an entree.

Thanks for the info guys... Been to most of the places, and all are good.. I'll let you know how it goes!

Penhold has a good idea brocketrocket, if you have one, flip thru an entertainment guide for dining ideas.

Akari at Scott and 72 has excellent japanese food and private party rooms, but that doesnt really help out the little guy. Unless you ran across the parking lot to white spot and picked him up a burger first.
