So, THIS happened just a few minutes ago.
Not sure whether or not to reply to this?
My first instinct was to make something up and cover for this client - in the event that this text is legit.
Upon further consideration, I thought it may be best not to respond.
Any thoughts? Yikes! I have never experienced this before :/

it's one of two possibilities:

1) a troll
2) the guy's wife in reality

in both cases, it's best not to respond. as they say, when you find yourself at the bottom of a deep hole... stop digging!

Different number this time. I have had a few ladies PM me, saying that they have experienced the same thing. Ladies, feel free to PM me for the phone numbers.
Time to improve my screening process, methinks! :(

I'd be polite, discreet, & careful. I had it happen not long ago. Gent's wife saw my number & my text & suspicion was aroused, so a visit was called off. At the gent's request, I sent a 'really sorry I must have mixed up the last two numbers texting my friend haha'. We arranged another visit a few weeks later after the gent decided he'd only contact me via PERB PM from that point forward.

Yikes indeed. Could be real. I had a wife call and leave a voice message... said she had found my number stored in her husband's phone (I had no previous contact with him). She even politely requested I call her back. ha.

Guys: DO NOT STORE OUR NUMBERS WITH OUR WORKING NAMES! I tell people to put me as "John - Golf" or something equally innocuous.

As for the text, Heidi, I would say just don't reply.

Excellent idea...me as a single guy never really had to worry about SO's digging through my phone etc. Be a little smarter fellas. Cover your tracks...even more so with the change in the weather...c16

Always, always keep your phone locked.

Wives and girlfriends cannot resist snooping.

Our work phones are all kept locked. Our managers often get calls from wives/husbands demanding to know the passwords.
