PEERS Victoria is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting current and former sex workers. We welcome workers from all sectors of the industry (street-based, escort agency workers, independent workers, etcetera). PEERS supports workers who choose to stay employed in the industry, as well as those who are interested in leaving it.
Beginning in the summer of 2014, we started hosting monthly dinner meetings for indoor workers. The purpose of these meetings is to foster social support among fellow workers, and to disseminate information about sex industry related topics.
We are pleased to report that our monthly dinner group meetings have been well received, and we have plans to continue hosting these get-togethers. We regularly have guest speakers, and have a great line-up in the works for the next few months. We will be inviting medical doctors, lawyers, accountants, and city officials to come and speak to our indoor workers group. There will be ample opportunity to ask our guest speakers questions and get valuable information that applies to your work. These events are free. Dinner is provided.
We will be hosting our next dinner meeting for indoor workers on January 29. Please email our Executive Director Rachel Phillips at [email protected] with your RSVP or any questions. We will provide the meeting location details and timing when you get in touch.
If you can't make it this time, we will be hosting other meetings in the future. Our next meetings are tentatively schedule for February 26, March 26, and April 23.
We look forward to welcoming you to our dinner group, or at any time that we are open. We run a drop-in centre that is open Monday-Thursday from 11am to 2:30pm.
