I found this on IMGUR this morning. THIS is the face of a proud Canadian. Rest in peace, Cpl Cirillo.
I would like to find a soldier today, and shake his hand buy him a coffee,
tell him thanks,
But I think they have been told not to wear the uniform,
That senseless killing of Cpl Cirillo is beyond my comprehension, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. But I think they have been told not to wear the uniform,
Read my previous post.....and my wife just left for work.............wearing her uniform. That senseless killing of Cpl Cirillo is beyond my comprehension, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends.
May he R.I.P.
I also heard or read somewhere that military personnel should not wear their uniforms today. That I don't understand or agree with. Are they suggesting that because there is fear that some other nut job may shoot another soldier ??????
That can't be the reason, 'cause I know our men in uniform have more back bone and courage than that. Just think of the thousands of men and women that go overseas to fight other countries problems, and put themselves in the line of fire each and every day. And as we all know, sadly some of them lose their life over there. May they all R.I.P.
And if 'fear' is the case for not wearing uniforms, what message does that send to any other 'would be killer' of soldiers ?????...I hope that's not the reason.
I think it should be just the opposite. EVERY military person, past or present, should wear their uniform proudly today, in honor of Cpl Cirillo.
(Maybe somebody has more knowledge than I do of why no uniforms today - and can enlighten me.)
Lo-ki;1557810[B said:]Sometimes the media pisses me off. What about the soldier Warrent Officer Patrice Vincent that was killed the day before. Sure looks like he died in vain. Oh yea I forgot he wasn't in Ottawa.[/B]
Patrice Vincent, 53, served with the Canadian Forces for 28 years. (Department of National Defence)
"He would do everything for you and always went out of his way."

Allow me to direct you to your post #10 in the "Shots Fired At Parliament Hill", and I quote:
"Going to be an interesting day at work for the missus. They got word of increased security concerns about two weeks ago, now this. Probably going to stop wearing her uniform to work for awhile."
Although it's true that Nov. 11 will be a nervous day... it's also VERY necessary to go through with ALL planned events because we can't show the terrorists that Canada is afraid of them. Especially our armed forces.
I worked for DND many years ago and they weren't allowed to go out in their "Work dress", they had to wear their Garrison uniforms when going out. Every time my boss went out to get supplies he had to change his clothes. Not sure if this is related or not.
It is so sad to see a man who volunteered his times to work for the Reserves to have his life ended this way. So very sad. May both these men rest in peace, and condolences to all their family. I share these same sentiments for all our lost soldiers and their families. My brother was a medic who saw his best friend get shot right in front of him in Kuwait way back. I cannot imagine what type of bravery it takes to do the job they do, and the tragedy that they and their families face. Thank you to all our soldiers.
What would different laws change? The gun man was shot and killed!?Just heard that fucking coward shot him from behind! FFS.
I wish we had tougher laws to deal with these fuck ups!!!
