I have to ask how these guys are getting away with this grow op.
This whole summer when ever I drive up behind gold stream park it smells of weed.
Obviously a grow op.. and they have not closed them down..
I seen cops up here so they must of smelt it..
I know those that smoke it.. would think nothing of it growing in their back yard.
But this is just a stone through from built up Residencial are on bear mountain..and provincial park
Think someone would say something to the authorities

And this has been going on last summer too.

It's totally possible it's indoors.

I had a grow OP in my hood, in fact a couple of them and they were indoors.

Everyone in the area could smell them. One was never busted but went away on its own. The last one got busted when the guys pitbull started eating the fence to get at the neighbours dog.

"You might not smoke it but the taxes from legalization will improve all our lives. I mean, unless you agree with Harper and the Gangsters and want to keep it illegal and underground."

Let everyone get high... bus drivers, crane operators, pilots, firefighter, cops ect ect ect.... great idea.
I doubt that you will be able to push for obligatory drug testing so that us who don't can be safe in our workplace.
The whole world has been trying to discourage people from smoking cigarettes so lets legalize an even worst substance.. great idea.

"Marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more cancer-causing substances than tobacco smoke. One major research study reported that a single cannabis joint could cause as much damage to the lungs as up to five regular cigarettes smoked one after another. Long-time joint smokers often suffer from bronchitis, an inflammation of the respiratory tract."

Well that's good for our Health Care...

Legal or not, anyone who wants to smoke probably already does.
Liquor is legal, that doesn't mean everyone who drinks is rolling on the floor drunk. Most people who smoke can do so sensibly.

Do you think if we legalize marijuana everyone is gonna run out and get stoned? Because they don't have access to it now, right? If you cannot drink alcohol at work then people certainly should not be smoking at work. Do people ever drink at work?

"Alcohol one of Canada’s top health threats: Study
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health published a new report Wednesday which marks alcohol as one of the greatest public health threats in Canada." (T.O. Star)
Cigarettes cause 1 of 5 deaths in the US (Center for Disease Control & prevention)
How many people died from overdosing on marijuana: 0 (HuffPo)
How many children died while waiting for their marijuana medication: Charlee, six, with seizure disorder dies days after namesake law is passed allowing hemp oil to be used for sick children (The Daily Mail)
Annual cost of enforcing marijuana laws (police and courts)in Canada: $500 million
Estimated annual costs associated with substance abuse in Canada: $1.4 billion for illegal drugs; $7.5 billion for alcohol and $9.6 billion for tobacco. (University of Ottawa Study)

If you still think marijuana should be illegal in the 21st century, with all the legalization and decrim that is happening with our West Coast Brothers than sadly, you are living in the past. :(

Oh, and in case you are still not sure: "$2.5 billion in taxes over five years in a regulated system." (UBC/SFU Study)
Now that's a great post :thumb:

Sadly when one presents indisputable facts to non believers about 420, they normally fall upon deaf ears.

I watched the PBS Series on the Prohibition period in America. (on Netflix) and it would be an easy line to draw between the ardent prohibitionists and today's anti 420 people. They can see the financial benefits, are dubious of any Heath benefit and only see society crumbling down around them as a result of the substance. Bear in mind alcohol was spun as something good for people to gain wider acceptance.

The only thing I see that is not in 420's favour is there is no Corporate entities who will pick up the fight for legality sakes. The Anti - Prohibitionists had major beer, spirits and wineries supporting the cause to remove the anti drinking laws. The 420 group do not have that sort of corporate muscle to help with the cause.

Interesting times though with US States making access easier to purchase medical grade bud.

It's not just medical cannabis in the States.
Recreational weed is legal in Colorado and Washington, and probably coming soon to California.

Taxing marijuana is a viable way for states to raise money to repair their crumbling infrastructure.
Did you see the recent news clip of the burst water main flooding Beverly Hills?

I worded that wrong. The sellers have access to high grade "medical grade" weed is what I meant. I realize there are plenty of recreational sellers now.

Who knows perhaps Canada will have a progressive society once again. One can only hope. :D

Why bust them ??? The stuff is probably being grown on public land and it would be tough for the cops to prove who was growing it. I know if I got caught there I would just say that I stubble on the site and thought jackpot. The worse that could happen is just a slap on the wrist.
