I just waited 45 mins to see my doctor. Had an appointment and put 45 mins in the meter. I waited long enough, besides the meter had run out so I left.

Why can't doctors manage their schedules better? I would have been better off with a drop in clinic not seeing my "family doctor". Does everyone have a "family doctor" anymore. guess I need to switch doctors.

It really does depend on earlier patients. If each one overstays by a few minutes, it can snowball.

I blame the doctors for overbooking as a habit. I blame the public healthcare system for not paying doctors more per patient. These guys need Porsches and homes in Vancouver too you know. It's hard to find a good GP these days cuz the kids coming out of med school know there's no money in that kind of gig. They all wanna be specialists at some well funded US hospital or go into cosmetic surgery and head to Korea or Colombia.

45 min wait is Peanuts. When I lived in Winnipeg the wait at a clinic was 3.5 hours!
I waited over 3 hours at a walk-in clinic here and decided to finally piss off.

Found out a new clinic opened nearby and the next day walked into that one and was seen immediately.

I was with the family doctor who delivered me and my child up until he retired a few years back... I used to do the walk in thing as well, but recently signed up with Medeo on my ipad and Android... Best choice I've ever made! Highly recommend if you don't have hours to spare sitting and waiting for a Dr.

+1 to Medeo. Such amazing service especially if you're only going for something minor. Beats lining up 15 mind befpre the clinic opens then waiting another 45 mins :)

If your doctor is popular and has a lot of patients, expect to wait a bit. A scheduled appointment is usually for something like 15 minutes, but how long it actually takes is a crap shoot. So, if you have a bunch of people before you who take longer than anticipated, you could be there for a while. It is just the nature of the business.
