No it not a new sex position .. It is the cry that go out when driving the roads of northern B.C. in may case ( and Ontario , Mantoba Alberta, Quebec ,New Brunswick, and Newfoundland/Labrador )

In B.C. Prince George area is the most active for Moose accidents on the road Usually in the winter months between Oct. to Jan in the evening hours ..

It was a news to me when i first started coming up to Mackenzie which is 200 km north of PG .. as fall and winter came i started hearing about . moose .. first it was hunting season and then it was watch out for them when driving at night on the high way .. Every thing up here ie like 150 to 200 Km drives .. It turns out Moose and then dear are the most deadly animal on the roads ..

My first Moose ever was when I was 4 or 5 on summer action when we drove the Big bend on the Columbia river .. and i had not seen one in over 50 yrs Then about two yrs ago when i was up north on our way home from PG I saw another on the edge of the high way in the snow storm .. We saw the gimps of one more that day just as we got to Mackenzie .. That year I only saw 3 all the next year .. I all so only saw 3.. T

Moose are not that easy to spot when at the edge of the road in the dark.. They are like ghosts .. a dark shadow .. But this year has been a record that i think will grow .. I seen a mom an her cafe one night .. and have seen a few Moose during the day on drives to PG and then on Christmas eve I saw 7 Moose.. It was all safe ,, Because i saw them well in advance of coming up on them .. a few were of the road ,, some were just finishing crossing and 3 were on the road .. Only one spooked when i drove by .. I was driving back about 9 pm to 11pm .Thay seem to come out later at night .. I thankful the night was clear and the moon was out ..it just made it so much easier to be on the watch for them

But when ever driving at night up here it is good to ether get in a "Moose convoy" as i call them ,, of 3 or 4 cars .. and follow the leader or to have a very experiences Moose watcher .. and prepared for the call 'MOOSE"

I saw a bunch that day .. but i see very few .. The hunters actually have not been bagging that ,many ether so I think there may be less Moose .. . There habitat has been changing ,, Mines are developing in areas that cross through ,,, the forests have been dieing and logged off and there was a lot of blow down in the last few years .. The snow has not been that bad in the last few years to drive then onto the roads This year it is deeper sooner and they are in to the populated areas looking for food

There are so many thing that effect habitat .. for Moose , it could be to wet or too dry , to hilly and with blow down it is a lot harder to get through the forest that they like ..

I could not find the most resent stats on rood kill but in 2005 there was 84 in the PG area , which was a 30% increase from a 5 yrs earlier Mackenzie only had 4 the same as a few years before.. ..

Of course Back east they have far more Moose and many more accidents with them .. But there seem to happen more in the summer months even though it seem to happen at a higher rate then in BC , all year round ..
