Through the years I have lost all my pets . 4 dogs and 6 cats .. and it all ways has been hard to let them go .. some it was sudden,, they were hit by a car others have had lingering deaths .. Where we really have not wanted to put them down and try to keep them as comfortable as we can . The Cats often had feline leukemia , one hand pancreas problems ,and another was a diabetic , the last to dogs had joint and hip problems

The last few I have had to decide to end their suffering it is not an easy thing to do ..

What got me on this topic to day is that a friend call to say that her cat had chocked to death on a hair ball .. That is one of the last things you thing of .. But I can see where it is some time a big problem for long hair cats .

So i just want to say to all of you who have pets, Love them every moment they are with you ..

Hey maxx. I read your post, got up from the computer and went to look for the dog. For a reward I got a lick on my bare arm. Perfect.

I have a cat in the mid teens. She can no longer jump up on the couch or bed. I know she doesn't have much time left, maybe a year or two. Every time she meows looking for attention and I'm just waking up or going to bed, I lift her up so that she can walk around on my bed. I can't stand the thought of losing her. She's my best friend out here.

It's amazing how pets would love you back as well. When my mother passed away when I was in my teens, our dog missed her so much that he literally got so sick that we had to put him down. It could have been a really unfortunate coincidence and he could have gotten sick regardless of her passing. He was a very healthy 8 yr old wire fox terrier.

One of my best friends has poor health is on a downward slope. Lot's of Vet's, lot's of Vet Bills, lot's of medications but she is stable.

It's heart wrenching to see your pup go through their life and then start on their journey to the ever after. This is a dog that chose me not the other way round.

I make her comfortable and give her extra hugs. It's all I can do for her.
