Impressions of the trip thus far:
- the Okanagan is becoming overpopulated.
- Bedrock City is gone! For a long time, that was my association with Kelowna before I started associating that city with blonde beach bunnies. These days, it`s pretty much retirees and rednecks.
- Chilliwack and Abbotsford have gotten bigger - I think their farmlands are gone.
- I think I`m the only one at my Vancouver hotel who speaks Canadian
- Lots of hot-looking babes in Vancouver. Hanging out on Robson St, I had to restrain myself from masturbating in public.
- Vancouver`s Harbour Walk is very nice, marred only by paint-by-number buildings with identical aqua-green glass.
- It took me 2 hours to walk the entire circumference of Stanley Park
- Checked out the Capice nightclub on Granville St last night. To my surprise, the staff and patrons in there were quite friendly. If this bar was in Edmonton, the girls would be walking around with their noses in the air and the guys would be spoiling to kick each other`s asses.
- I`m taking every opportunity to smoke on every coffee shop patio I find myself on.
- Dined at the Tsunami Sushi on Robson. I love those self-serve sushi boats, mainly because I don`t have to wait for my food.

I too ate at Tsunami when I was in Van. I actually ate at about five different sushi places. To my surprise Edmonton has better midprice ($30-50) sushi places then Vancouver. On the high end Vancouver wins hands down (I don't even know if there are any high end sushi in Edmonton), but their midprice sushi, including Tsunami, was rather disappointing. The novelty of the floating boats wares off quick, but it is a good conversation piece.

Continue having fun!

More impressions:

- has Second Cup been chased out of Vancouver, or what? There's a Starfucks and a Blendz on every corner.

- a Michael Jackson impersonator performed in front of the Virgin Megastore today. He was very impressive and he drew a large crowd and gave me some good 80's nostalgia.

- after my long trek through Stanley Park, I walked by a spa on Robson that welcomed walk-ins. So after many recommendations to get a pedicure done by many women I know (including some of my favorite SPs), I decided to take another step into metrosexuality, walked into the spa and got a pedicure done, mainly to give my tired dogs some relief. The girl who worked on my feet wore rubber gloves - I don't blame her at all!! The best part was that I was the only male customer inside, and the other customers (all reasonably attractive females) all smiled at me with approval - the girl beside me even gave me her phone number. I think I found another good avenue to pick up chicks! :D

Just a note: my internet access is rather limited. For some reason, cybercafes are hard to find around here. I'm at one near the pedicure place, where they had to change my Windows language from Korean to English. So anyway, hang tough and will report back when I can.

For sushi places in the mid-range of prices, Damaisu is my favourite. There are several locations. IMO, the on near Cambie and Broadway is the best.

Back in Edmonton now.

More impressions of the West Coast:

- Looks like the ferry boats have been upgraded. They seem to be faster, cleaner and more modernized.

- Lots of British tourists in Victoria. Part of Victoria's charm is the strong British influence in its structure and culture. Which begs the question, if people from the UK want to experience this, why not stay at home? Wouldn't an English person seeing Victoria be like an American eating McDonalds in China?

- There is a dire need for an expressway between the Tsawassen ferry and the Trans-Canada east of Vancouver. Otherwise, one has to contend with a heavily-congested single-lane road with lots of lights. The Pat Bay highway between Victoria and Schwartz Bay could use an upgrade to a freeway too.

- Note to other road trippers to the coast: the Yellowhead route through Jasper is faster, less crowded and less dangerous than the Trans-Canada route via Golden and Revelstoke.

- after my experience in Victoria, I need to bring my own Internet-accessible device next time I travel on holidays .

It's too bad we had an NDP government for as long as we did otherwise that UPGRADED boat would actually have been a brand new one.

Hope you actually enjoyed the visit to the Coast.

Yes, I did enjoy my visit. Although I only saw two SPs, I had other reasons for the trip besides pooning. But I will continue to maintain my BC to-do list for any future visits.
