It all ways amazes me how much drama they can make out of flying . It may work for the laymen that has never piloted a plane .. But every day flying has no drama .. just do what you should make your checks , and hope the mechanic have done their job.. It can be very boring ..

What it does offer is getting up in the air away from everyone .. and traveling in a strait line to your destination you get there faster .. at a bigger expense if you are a privet pilot ..

I did not enjoy it that much and could not afford it .. some time i think of going up just to relive the feeling .. it has been 25 yrs when i last piloted a plane .. and i would not go up with out a instructor But I still remember what to do and how it feels ...

It's quite nice of the producers to create a show that puts the little known thriving communities of the North on the map.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see several communities in the far north for myself and can say from travelling around in a small plane firsthand as a passenger that bush flying up north is dangerous. Pilots regularly land in conditions under the weather limits and over the crosswind limits to get food, medical supplies and patients in and out of those communities. As far as "thriving" northern communities go, they are very rare. Most are hopeless destitute godforsaken shitholes where criminals should be sent to serve out their time.

Kudos to CBC's " Artic Air " for having the largest number of viewers for a premiere of a new drama series in 20 years. :thumb:

This will be good for Yellowknife tourism as well.

At least CBC knows what ROI means. Turning a profit on taxpayers money on advertising revenues. :thumb:
this is one taxpayer that would rather his money be left in his own pocket so he can worry about his own ROI

The commercials for the premiere used every cliche possible... May Day, pregnant passenger, internal conflict between staff... Pretty much exactly what I expect from Canadian made show.

Instant Fail...

So, what you mean is, it has the same unrealistic conventions as any American show. Except that it's not American. It's Canadian.
