Its actually called a GIFT card because its supposed to be used as a GIFT not a medium of exchange. The best thing you can do with your GC is to give it as a GIFT to your companion outside of your donation OR just donate it to your favorite charity. You'll feel way better. 
The only people that used GC's as medium of exchange are those creative online gaming companies that used GC's to circumvent money laundering laws and have their partly-owned financial instituions in so-called Banana Republics clear them. Unfortunately, the US authorities have caught up with most of them already. :nod:

There is usually a 1 800 # on the back of card that will assist in determining the balance on the card.

I wouldn't think any sp would accept it as trade, but you can certainly use it as a tip if you feel you can't use it yourself. If you can, then just use the gift cards to save you spending money, and use that money you saved to pay the sp cash.

On another note, I love how people totally ignore what the OP is asking chime in with their own opinions.
He was asking how he could turn a GC into a pooning session, and people tell him that he should just give it away for free as a tip. Good advice lol
It's like when I list my hockey tickets on CL (for face value, never more) and people email me telling me I should donate them to charity.

What I hear people saying is that it's probably not going to work and it's not a good/cool/wise idea...they're not ignoring his question at all. They're answering it very succinctly...
But, if you must, how about this idea...go to the Buy & Sell area and offer them up specifically. Eg. "$300 worth of gift cards to Superstore, Office Depot, Apple, 7-Eleven, and Rona. Never used. Will trade for services. If interested, please PM me for details."

What's wrong with a little bartering? Let's say SP wants to buy a TV at Future Shop for $1,000. Pooner trades her his $200 gift card for an hour @ $180, it's a win win for both of them:eyebrows:. You can check the value of the card at the Future Shop website.
