I'm a Toronto SP who will be traveling with a regular client over the holidays.

He spent last year in Banff at The Fairmont. He busied himself with a helicopter ride, dog sledding, fine dining, shopping and the New Years Eve dance at the hotel. He has limited ability to do skiing or snowboarding. He is more of an arts, symphony, or perhaps sledding/ski dooing type.

I have been looking at taking him to the NYE celebration on top of Blackcombe Mountain (see http://www.canadianoutback.com/whistler-snowmobile-tours-new-years.php). Does anyone know if this idea is a worth it? Or have any other ideas? Is there a better option for a NYE celebration?

I would appreciate any suggestions. He is willing to pay $ to have a good time. Poor guy works like a fiend and this is one of the rare opportunities he has to spend some of his hard earned dollars.

Thank you for any suggestions.

This will be my first trip to Whistler. Does anyone have any Restaurant recommendations or activities that I should try to do?

The trip up on blackcomb is worth it , if you get a clear night you'll have the most amazing view of the valley . The food will be average most likely but you don't go up there for that.

As for restaurant on top of Araxi as Gonzo mention you could inquire about Rim Rock Cafe on Creekside which is one of the local favorite and the Barefoot Bistro which has the best wine cellar in the valley. I would not go for any of the chain restaurant like The Keg or Hy's because the charge as much as a high end one without the quality . If you like Sushi Whistler has maybe one of the best selection of Sushi restaurant in BC .

Enjoy your trip in our majestic mountains

Oh c'mon. For romance, just hit any pub or restaurant that has old ski's mounted on the wall. Then, shortly after midnight, do the throw-down cow-girl in the village streets. That will be memorable.

Good, at least you're getting some decent weather. And Happy New Year to you.
