Anyone got a liter bike? I've had many motorcycle thru the years but never once had a liter bike that can go to 100mph in 1st gear. I sit in my cube at work dreaming of a 2011 CBR1000RR in my garage almost daily. It is super expensive something like $13,999 msrp before tax, lic, fees.

I did buy a new bike weeks ago, a 2011 CBR250R. Its handles awesome due to 359 pounds fully fueled. Its not fast by any stretch but I tell you the handling is ridiculous good due to low weight and small size.

My 2nd favorite bike is the 2011 GSXR750.

I still have my class 6 licence but have not had a bike for 13 years.....last 1 I had was an older kawasaki that I drove to death.....engine siezed when I was going 130 and a pulled the clutch just in time and rode it into the ditch....I have thought of getting a bike but I think Calgary drivers would be a detriment to my health.

I currently have a Ducati Multistrada touring in the stable but I'll be trading it in for a Streetfighter S in the spring. I got a CBR600 when I first started out, so I have a super soft spot for Hondas.

you want some excitement between your legs? Buy a harley. Why the hell do you want to do 100 in first gear anyways? The speed limit on hwy 1 is 80 thru most of the city. You are going to lose your license if LE catches you.

Bike mfgs are constantly leapfrogging each other. CBR used to be the gold standard, then the Kawi ZXs.
The R1 then took the throne. Recently the GSXR has becoming sought after again.
So really depends on the model year you looking for.

On a side note I been riding on and off for since 98. Over the years,
have lost one buddy and another acquaintance has pins in his wrist and knees now.
Keep safe out there.

1000cc bike is going to be very heavy. Unless you're weighing 250 lbs, I wouldn't recommend it because it will be a lot to handle when manoeuvering.

For most guys, I think 600cc is more than plenty. The japanese bikes are so good, even buying new doesn't make sense any more.

I've had class 6 now for a while.
My rides on a street bike always ended with a Forestry road.
So I geared up to a Dual Sport.

The dumbest move in the bike industry was Suzuki killing off the SV650. Low priced, handling, VTwin rumble. I'm not really a hugh fan of inline 4 motors, they do sound like a blender sometimes. I have a single cylinder bike and its got a unique sound and good torque.
