Recently my sister has been staying at my place. I am amazed by how long it takes her to shower. Is 20 minutes too long? I know there a things a lady does in a shower like shaving your legs, but I am curious what the general consensus is for shower time.

For me 5 mimutes pretty much assures me of a good cleaning and shampoo. Just wondering.

Thanks

yeah 10 minutes is about what i do as well, and this is a good long one for me. 20 minutes is definitely too long, may as well be taking a bath for the amount of water she's using.

to do my small part as a conservationist of water and energy.
I shower in cool/cold water.(this would be known as ishnan if taken
before dawn). Let the water run on me for 2-3 minutes while
massaging/rubbing the arms legs and upper torso. Turn water
off. Lather up for 2-3 minutes. Rinse/massage for another 2-3
minutes. Done and refreshed.

Likewise for me in the mornings and evenings.
But at the end of a long day, if I am beat or a little stressed out, I will stand under a hot rainfall or a hot multi head spray for about 5 mins.

Suggest you put a kitchen timer in the bathroom and tell her five minutes max :D

Nothing wrong with turning off the water and doing her shaving etc, then turning the water on again.

Five minutes max for me and if I want to take my time I will fill the tub and lay in it til I am wanting to get out.

My morning shower is 10-15 minutes, I am half asleep so it wakes me up.
Evening shower is 5 minutes.

I am little concerned about wasting water. I visit family out in the valley.
See them all watering their lawns, washing their car with more water than I use for showers in a month.
One of the neighbours was pressure washing his entire home, entire fence, and driveway last time I was out there.

A cold shower is awesome. I start with warm and then slowly turn of the hot water tap. Better for starting the day then a cup of coffee.

on yer ignore list
10 to 12 minutes in the morning depending on whether i zone out in the warm water or not :)

i notice the ladies demurely not mentioning shaving their privates - you wouldn't want to rush THAT process!!!

lol That's pretty funny. There's a lot more to cover than your facial shave, it would take a ridiculously longer amount of time if I was to stop to turn the water on and off while I shave. Yikes.

- If I shave my legs, underarm and kitty, that's a good 15-20minutes right there.

Longer Hair takes a considerable amount of time more than men or shorter hair (trust me I know - I complain about missing having short hair every time I have to wash my hair! Long hair is the biggest pain in the ass. lol)

- Shampoo, rinse, conditioner, rinse.

- Wash with soap and rinse all over.

- Wash my face and neck (no boys, not the same as your quick job using regular soap)

- A good luffah scrub all over.

- Scrub my feet with my special sponge-thing and soap for a minute or two. Then smooth them with the file thing.

- Then I'm a bit hot by then so I switch to a couple of minutes of warm/cold final rinse.

Note: Add 5 minutes of additional rinsing time if you're in Vancouver because it takes forever here for some reason! HA! (it's true!)

And I'm done, probably 30minutes (at least) from when I started....

But not really because I still have to...

- squeeze as much water out of my hair as I can then wrap a towel around it.

- Dry off with a towel.

- Brush my teeth. Twice. (Don't forget the tongue too.)

- A little swish of mouthwash.

- Then apply some deodorant.

- Then I will use some toner on my face, followed by moisturizer.

- I'll head to my room and apply body oil everywhere to moisturize.

- I'm ready to put my makeup on.

- Get dressed.

- And then I'm ready for a nap but I'm already 10 minutes late so the nap will have to wait! lol.

That sounds about right...lol :p:p

Of course it takes less time if I'm not shaving or if my hair doesn't need to be washed. And a little shorter still if I haven't gone anywhere or don't wanna mess my makeup!!

But it's a lot of work if I'm trying to get all of it done in one single shower so yah it's going to take a while.
