I need lots of advice from the community on this one...

An asian friend of mine was considering opening an AMP (probably a micro) in Victoria and asked me if I thought it was a good idea. As far as I know, there is nothing of the sort operating in Victoria right now. Do you think it would be well recieved? Do you think it could slip under the LE radar? Any comments would be appreciated... thx

Not now, since they will probably be keeping an eye open and certainly monitor any and all advertising....

They would probably be concerned if there was any evidence at all of illegal aliens, or of any coertion/exploitation of the women.

A fancy place with marble tubs and saunas too?? Or just an apartment with girls? Whats a micro exactly?

Thanks for your comments

Massage Girl: Marble tubs and saunas sound great... but a micro more like an apartment or house with girls. There's a lot about them on the 'Vancouver Massage' board

Hank: I know the 'entrepanneur' fairly well and I'm sure the women would be well treated

What I am most interested in knowing is "do you think there is a market for this?" and "what obstacles might exist?". But I'd appreciate any comments or PMs.

Obstacals?
None if you don't count neighbours burning firey crosses on your lawn!!!
Beware, as any Agency will tell you in this town, residential locations eventualy get shut down by complaints of late night noise, drunks pounding on the wrong doors and undue traffic(taxis) at a building. If micro means a couple of girsl at each location, it may work for you at a downtown location. There's my two cents worth.

No hottubs? I see. Not such a novelty then.

I will say there don't seem to be many Asian girls in Victoria so there may be a market but with only 250,000 people in greater Victoria, there is a much smaller piece of the pie to be had compared to Vancouvers 1.8 million, and it's close proximity to the US etc. We are kinda isolated over here.

The market here supports independants and only 2 or 3 agencys, it seems. New agencys usually fail within 3 months, especially
since the Moonday mag no longer allows agency ads, so smaller albeit cheaper ads must be placed for each girl.

I believe one of the successful agencys is in an industrial location, and have involved the polices opinion in setting up so they have their support.

If its an apartment or residential type setting - no hot tubs, no steam rooms - then it won't be unique and there are a number of great independent ladies and a couple of agences quite adequately serving the "Sooke to Sidney" population of 385,000 souls...

As for slipping under the radar of LE - NOT - In Victoria, LE will definately know, they monitor and as several agencies have found out - when "pushed" they'll take action!
