According to London-based Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Calgary topped the most recent semi-annual list of 144 cities around the world with a score of 121 points. Honolulu was second with 120. Ottawa fifth. Montreal and Vancouver tied for ninth and Toronto came in at 18th. The scores are based on air pollution levels, availability and quality of hospitals and medical supplies, as well as the efficiency of waste removal and sewage systems indicating low levels of infectious disease.
