So I been hearding the buzz about these new and current companies... Although what is bugging me is which company is the most reliable and the best one out in the market. I am currently with prepaid fido but thinking after the new year, going with wind... Why, cause (wind) carries the new android OS phones they got. I was gonna get a iphone but gonna need something, that is, well unique in a few directions. Either that just buy one of their phones and unlock the son of a bitch. So hopeing a few of yous' would be able to point me out right direction...

PS-> no offensive for fido but they got the worse customer service i doubted with in the past four months. those skinners just want to make a pay-cheque...

My phone contract runs out in a few months and I've been eyeing Wind as well.
The coverage issue is not a biggy for me, because I spend 90% of my time in Vancouver-proper, and 95% of my time in the lower mainland.

But one thing I've realized is that Wind operates in the AWS frequeny band (1700 and 2100).

There are a finite number of phones that are compatible with that frequency.

And the number of *Android* phones that are compatible with that frequency is very small indeed (at least right now..... there are more new androids coming out every couple of weeks).

This is the whole list.... about 20 of them

If you're willing to go across the border, the good news is T-Mobile operates in the same frequency band, so if you buy a phone from them, it should work here.

Right now, iPhones are not compatible with the AWS frequency band.....

Wind's data rates are very good. It's a 3G network and it has much much more capacity on it than Rogers and Telus, because there are currently far fewer subscribers on it. Seems pretty stable to me too. Coverage is limited to the big cities right now, but their coverage plans for the next year or two show rapid expansion. Reckon in 5-10 years they won't be far short of Rogers. I'll have saved a truckload of lovely money in that time by dumping Telus and Rogers.
