After reading some replies to my question regarding Brandy’s decided against it (I thought it was Gentleman’s Club like Scores in NYC). So, now I need some help in finding place to entertain some colleagues and senior management coming in to look at our new Vancouver office. Even though I have only been in Vancouver for six months, I have fallen in love with the city and now would love to show my New York buddies that Vancouver is also a world class city. I have looked on the net, but I think word-of-mouth from Vancouverites is the best recommendation. I would like to know of an excellent “west-coast” restaurant, a good fusion (oriental-western) restaurant, etc. New York boasts some of the finest restaurants in the world and I would love to show them what Vancouver has to offer. Could you also recommend some galleries, museums, jazz clubs, “must-sees” etc?

Hmmmmmmmmmm.................

how long ar you in town for ? And how much $$$ do you want to spend ???

Hys steak house is good .or Gothams ... Not oriental-western .. but classy with nice character...

You may want a martini bar for starts ..just for drinks with scenery of some cosmetic implants in your face to get you going and a no brainer.. would be to hit Brandi's post dinner... if you want to impress.. try to get on guest list and get ready to shell out cash .....

Vancouver yo have hot women everywhere,.. so you have no worries.. its only #2 to Dallas, Texas ..

I actually live here now, but my guest are coming in for a week, been to Gothams before, but NYC has the real deal as far as steakhouses. What I want is something they can't find in NYC as far as cost this is on expense account , so $$ no biggie.

I here ya.. your Taking about Delfrisco types ... I went to Delfriso's in Dallas OMG what a steak house.. NYC I believe they have one ...

As far as Vancouver goes.. on Steakhouses.. I would say HY's Steakhouse.. we dont really have too many top notch ones.. we have more brewery Cardero's type places b/c there is a lot of money in Vancouver but brewery type places give people the option and alternative for a $13 burger on one page and a 75 dollar steak on the other..

But just steak houses.. your limited.. I would do Hy's and shimmy up to BRandi's it will add to your posh outing ...

I will give you a hint*** stop on second floor.. first 200 bucks ( ithink) correct me if I am wrong shows a reciept for Keg Ceasers.. you can look into or maybe Dylan may be able to confrim that ..

West Coast cuisine tends to = seafood.

"C" is a restaurant that tends to get rave reviews and has a decent view. Pretentious enough to impress those who have an appreciation for an enormous bill at the end of the night.
Everyone I've taken there claims it's one of the best. (my opinion that it ISN'T is the opinion of the minority)

Not a personal favorite, but has proven to be a fine choice when entertaining visitors.

I vote Tojo's!!! There's a couple other higher end sushi restaurants like En and a few others. But I definitely would pick Tojo's over C (*shrugs* eh... interesting, but I've had better asian/western fusion down in Seattle), there's also Vj's if you want east indian/western fusion.

As for steak houses.. .I gotta go with Smuggler's Inn in Calgary... *drools*

Cin Cin's on Robson has some great food, ambience and wine & scotch lists. I have taken US clients there and have had great results.

I vote for Tojo's too. Not what I expected from a high end sushi place. You could mistake it for a coffee shop. A fantastic view and better sushi.

I wanted to go to C, Lumière, West, or Diva at the Met, but I was informed that the dress code was at least business casual which I didn't have at the time.
