Both temperatures are bad for the homeless, those are the people the cold weather hurts the most.
True, so it'll be interesting to see how Vancouver's "round'em up and head them out" by-law will work out.

Yes, I pity anyone who has to endure a hardship as bitterly cold as this. I'm out in the bush, my shacks propane is too cold to ignite the furnaces, my water pump is frozen and the lines will likely burst before it warms up so I'll be screwed until I can get it fixed.

I have a month in Spain this spring to look forward to so hopefully it's worth it, I just have to put on an extra pair of socks, a few more layers of clothing and hope to heck it warms up soon! :(

it would work fine, if they round them up and head them into a nice warm shelter of sorts.

Thanks! I have my trucks exhaust with a flex hose running to my propane bottles to get some heat on them, trouble is the exhaust is getting into my shack and I have a terrible headache. I should probably have a nap, didn't get much sleep shivering all night.

yeah, my apartment is on the bottom floor, which is actually below ground level in a pretty old building, so all of the cold air just pours straight into my unit. I had to wear a sweater and cover myself in a blanket.

Furnaces, water pump, holy crap. You got to man up there sonny. Back in the day, up by Prince Greorge, we had a sawdust hopper stove, water came from melting ice and snow, and we had to use a two holer out back of the shack. I'll bet you got an indoor crapper, right ? Going to work out on the railway in -30 to -40 degree weather was a way of life in the winter. Sometimes it was so cold, when you were replacing a rail and missed the spike hitting the rail, the damned thing would split. Now that was cold. :p

Did you have electricity back in your day? :p
